This Rat Terrier/Chihuahua Mix came to DASH with several other small dogs when their owner had to go into a nursing home. He is currently in our DASH Prison Program where is he learning his basic commands and working on crate training. He is a very social boy who loves all dogs and humans. He enjoys snuggling in your lap to relax and sleeping in bed with you. He loves his toys and going outside to play and take walks. He can sometimes be a little sensitive to loud noises, as most small dogs are. This boy is as sweet as they come and is ready to find his forever family or person. This sweet and very smart little guy came to DASH with several other small dogs when his owner had to go into a nursing home and could not take him with them. He is currently in our DASH Prison Program where he is working on his basic commands, which his trainer says he is picking up very quickly. He is also working on his socialization skills, he likes other dogs, but doesn't really care to play with them. He does not like to be crated, he wants to be with his people, so that is a work in progress, but he does love his walks and to cuddle whenever the opportunity presents itself. He is also very kid friendly, but has not been cat tested. He is very treat motivated and loves a good piece of ice over an actual treat. This boy is ready to find his forever home with a family or person who will continue with his training so he can continue to be the best boy for the rest of his life. Story
Silly DAIZY is a fun and affectionate little mixed breed girl looking for a home. Our best guess on breed is a rat terrier/Jack Russell Terrier-type mix, maybe with a little Min Pin as well? Daizy is bouncy, playful and energetic. She needs an active lifestyle, she must go to a home with another dog who loves to run and play. Daizy would also be a great agility dog, she's athletic and smart. When playtime is over Daizy loves treats and cuddles. Daizy is about 2 years old and fully grown at just 22 pounds. If you'd like to meet Daizy, please fill out a dod adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Daizy at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
