Tiny terrier type GERALDINE is a purebred lovebug. She absolutely loves lap time and cuddle time. And food. Geraldine appears to be a rat terrier/chihuahua-type mixed breed girl. She's 5-6 years old and fully grown at 11 pounds but could stand to gain a pound. Geraldine is such a gem, low/medium energy and good with everyone. She came to us from a rural shelter. In addition to the standard vet care we provide all of our dogs, Geraldine had a dental cleaning and a mammary tumor removed (PLEASE spay your female dogs to help prevent mammary tumors!). Geraldine's needs are pretty simple: love, a welcoming lap, food and more love. If you'd like to meet Geraldine, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Geraldine at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. This sweet and very smart little guy came to DASH with several other small dogs when his owner had to go into a nursing home and could not take him with them. He is currently in our DASH Prison Program where he is working on his basic commands, which his trainer says he is picking up very quickly. He is also working on his socialization skills, he likes other dogs, but doesn't really care to play with them. He does not like to be crated, he wants to be with his people, so that is a work in progress, but he does love his walks and to cuddle whenever the opportunity presents itself. He is also very kid friendly, but has not been cat tested. He is very treat motivated and loves a good piece of ice over an actual treat. This boy is ready to find his forever home with a family or person who will continue with his training so he can continue to be the best boy for the rest of his life. He enjoys snuggling in your lap to relax and sleeping in bed with you. He loves his toys and going outside to play and take walks. He can sometimes be a little sensitive to loud noises, as most small dogs are. This boy is as sweet as they come and is ready to find his forever family or person. He has not been kid or cat tested, but would not recommend very young children just due to his size.
