Story
Frankie (a.k.a Freckles or Frank) arrived in Canada from St. Lucia about a year ago and has been adored from day one! He’s a gentle, cheerful, playful little guy who loves kisses, cuddles and people with his whole heart. Frankie is a sensitive boy who loves having his person all to himself and enjoys being the main character in the household. He is currently living his best life in a foster home where he has quickly learned new tricks and commands. He is an all-terrain, all weather, booty trained dog who loves the outdoors, hiking or going on long walks. But he also likes his downtimes and snoozes when his person is in a meeting. He is friendly with guests after giving them an initial enthusiastic welcome. One friendly sniff and your guest will become his best friend. Give him a treat and you can make him do anything! Now Frankie’s looking for his forever family, where - as an only dog - he can get all the pampering that this beautiful boy truly deserves! This unique boy has a rare but very manageable immune-related skin condition (ischaemic dermatopathy). It’s not contagious and is easily controlled with regular medication, supplements, sun protection, and a fish-based diet to stay healthy. Flare-ups can happen with intense sun exposure, stress, or vaccinations. Frankie just needs a loving, active and caring family committed to his ongoing care and regular vet check-ups. If you want a loyal and goofy little shadow who’ll love you endlessly, Frankie is your perfect match! Frankie’s adoption fee is being waived—we really want this sweet boy to find the loving home he deserves. 🏡🐶

Story
Meet Charlotte   • Name: Charlotte • Age: 7–8 years • Sex: Spayed Female • Breed: Terrier Mix • Color: Brown • Weight: 9.5 kg • Height (shoulder): 37 cm   Rescue Story Charlotte was rescued from a municipal shelter in January 2021. After her rescue, she spent about four years in a private shelter. During that time, an incident involving a bite made her extremely sensitive to touch—she would scream when handled, which made adoption very difficult.   In November, Charlotte joined the AKR center, where she began desensitization and touch training. At first, even putting on a collar or harness caused her to scream, but with consistent training and patience, she has made meaningful progress. Now, she may occasionally whine slightly, but her reaction has improved significantly.   She is sensitive to her fur being pulled, so she is currently kept with a short coat for her comfort.   ‍‍‍ Socialization with People Charlotte can be a little shy at first, but she is very food-motivated. With treats and gentle, positive reinforcement, she warms up quickly and becomes comfortable with touch.   She has not been tested with children under 13. While she can be picked up once she trusts you, this may be difficult for strangers at first. As she bonds, she becomes affectionate—even offering her belly for rubs.   Socialization with Dogs Charlotte is friendly and social with other dogs. She approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to greet and invite play.   She can be a bit vocal when playing, which may overwhelm more timid dogs. However, she does very well with dogs that match her energy level, regardless of size.   She would thrive either with a compatible canine companion or as the only dog in the home.   Cats Not yet tested, but can be assessed upon request.   Energy Level Moderate energy. She enjoys outdoor activities but settles down calmly afterward.   Walks Charlotte may look around curiously during walks, but she follows her handler well and does not pull on the leash.   Other Notes • No resource guarding toward people or dogs • No separation anxiety—she stays home alone well • May bark at other dogs, but does not bark excessively at people • Calm and quiet in a kennel • Nervous about getting into the car—may need to be gently carried in (a crate is recommended initially) • Currently uses outdoor potty   Ideal Home Charlotte is looking for a patient and understanding home that will continue her positive reinforcement training and respect her sensitivity to touch. With time, consistency, and kindness, she truly blossoms into a loving and affectionate companion.   If you’re looking for a sweet, resilient dog and are willing to give her the time she needs to fully trust, Charlotte could be your perfect match. Story
Under AKR Custody Review (Adoption temporarily on hold pending resolution of foster situation) Currently in Vancouver!!! Name: Mongmong Age: 4 years old Sex: Neutered Male Breed: JRT (Jack Russell Terrier) Mix Color: Black, tan, and white Weight: 9.5 kg (20.9 lbs) Height (at shoulder): 32 cm (12.6 inches)   Mongmong is a sweet and affectionate pup who loves people — whether you’re a familiar friend or someone he’s just met, he’ll happily come over for pets and attention. He’s especially gentle with young children and is comfortable being picked up with arms under his belly. Once he warms up, he’ll even show you his belly! He’s curious about other dogs and will approach them to say hello, though he doesn’t typically engage in play. Gentle with cats, not much interest in them. Mongmong has a moderate energy level and enjoys outdoor activities like walks, but settles down calmly afterward. He’s well-behaved on leash, doesn’t pull, and follows his human companion nicely. He is not food aggressive and remains calm in a kennel or during car rides. Mongmong was found injured, likely from a car accident, and was at risk of euthanasia at a municipal shelter. After being rescued, Mongmong had one eye removed due to phthisis bulbi, a condition that caused his eye to shrink and lose function and had hernia surgery on 25.05.01-but he’s recovered beautifully and is now ready for a fresh start Mongmong is a brave little survivor with a heart full of love. He’s looking for a forever home where he can feel safe, cherished, and loved — could that be with you? Story
QUICK FACTS  Name: Pori Age: About 6 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Terrier Mix Color: White Weight: 12kg / 26.5lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed    MY RESCUE STORY  I was just a tiny puppy, about two months old, back in 2020 when I, along with my fivesiblings, was left at a shelter because our previous owner couldn’t take care of us. Thanks to the kind people who rescued us, I was given a second chance at life. Now, I’m ready to start a new chapter of my life and find a loving forever home where I can be safe, happy, and part of a family.    MY HEALTH  • All vaccinations up-to-date • Spayed • Atopic Dermatitis    MY PERSONALITY  Hello, my name is Pori! I am a small and adorable terrier with a gentle, shy nature. I may be timid, but I have a big heart, and I am friendly with people and even allow new friends to pet me! With time and patience, and of course love, I know that I will bloom and be the best friend you’re looking for!     MY SOCIAL SKILLS  · With People: I may be a little shy at first, but I can be pet and be held in your arms with a little bit of time, after we become friends!   · With Dogs: I say hello to dog friends, but I enjoy my personal space. However, I rely on my friends for comfort and support, and I am more relaxed with a friend around! · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown (Cat test can be requested to ensure the best fit)   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY  I have moderate energy level – I like to be outside for my playtime and like to rest inside afterwards, all snuggled up! I’m not too familiar with walks, and may lie down if I get scared, so quiet walking paths are best. I can pull on the leash sometimes, but I usually follow my handler well.    TRAINING & HABITS  I don’t guard my food from people or dogs. I may bark at strangers, but with time and gentle introduction, I can warm up to new people. I am calm when I am in the kennel, but I am not too familiar with cars, and will need assistance getting in and out of the car.  I’m comfortable going to the bathroom both on indoor pads and outside.    MY IDEAL HOME  I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • A dog friend that I can rely on for support and guidance    SPECIAL NOTES  I may need a few days to adapt to the new environment, but with your gentle guidance and love, I know that I have the potential to be the best friend and the family member you’re looking for!    Pori's Youtube Playlist    Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org  For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2646751##
