Story
Looking for a friend for your dog? Look no further! This girl is one with a sad past but her daily transformation is so rewarding!!! While she’s wary of humans she's slowly learning love and trust. She could use a patient home where she can learn to love again. A home with other dogs is ideal as her confidence really shows around them! Once she's comfortable in her home she becomes a very playful girl, absolutely LOVES toys!!! She has shown amazing improvement in her foster home but requires lots of time and patience…. she has NEVER shown aggression. We truly believe she is a "dogs’ dog". She's not going to be a snuggler with people… content keeping distant from (most) humans … she would rather run and play with her four legged foster fur siblings.. at the end of the day she will join you on the couch to watch your favorite show or movie and may “snuggle” next to you.... Because of her shy temperament we want to see her in a home with other dogs where she can just be their friends and playmates.

Story
Bailey is a handsome terrier mix (maybe ratty and Boston??) who got returned to our program after being adopted for 5 years. He is a little timid, but he is super sweet. He takes treats gently from your hands. Let's give this boy a second chance at forever! From his foster Dad - Bailey can be low key most of the time. It took a while to get him to go out in the yard, but now he loves it. He will fuss with the others at the neighbor's dogs. He also seems to want to patrol the fence, as if it's his duty. He comes in when called. He gets excited a meal time, and will dash to his spot. At times, he has had issues with the other foster dogs but usually he wants to hang out with them. He still has some nervousness and may snip in fear if scared so someone with a gentle approach is needed and young kids would not be a good match. He does like being petted and he likes napping on the sofa, the arm of my chair, or the big blue pet bed!To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

Story
Macy came from a person who said she found her. Macy is available for either in-state adoption or adoption and transport to another state. Macy looks like a rat terrier. We are guessing she is around 3 years of age and she weighs 15 pounds. As expected, she was a bit leery of the other dogs at first but now she is just as happy and playful as she can be. Macy is very affectionate and loves attention and pets. She likes to sit next to you on the couch and grumbles at the other dogs to keep them away so she can have all the attention. This is a bad habit and should not be encouraged. Macy is crate-trained and well-behaved in the house. She likes to roll herself up in a blanket when sleeping. Macy is getting chubby after her spay and her new family needs to take her on walks to lose weight. Macy is doing well with housetraining but may need more work. Because Macy is small, she must be protected from rough treatment by children or big dogs that could hurt her. She must also be protected from raptors and other outdoor predators. Macy must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. To avoid injury, she will need steps to get on and off the couch and other furniture. Macy must be walked on a leash and would like a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Macy is healthy. She is spayed and tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Macy has a $200 in-state adoption fee. Her out-of-state adoption fee is $450 and includes the cost of ground transport. She can be transported almost anywhere within the continental United States. Macy is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Please send an email to 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting this little sweet girl. Story
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies and other core vaccinations. Please complete an adoption application at https://www.asvtexas.org/adoption-application.html. Teddy is such a good boy.  He plays well with other dogs, gets along well with cats and is great with children.  He loves playing with toys, but also likes to relax and snuggle.  He is the perfect little dog and deserves to find his forever home!ASVT does not have a facility; all of our adoptable pets live in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted. No one takes a salary so all donations and grants are used for the rescue animals. April 24, 2024, 4:59 pm
