Story
Meet Tina! She is a 2 year old rat terrier/heeler mix rescued with her mom, sister and younger siblings after being dumped in a bad area of town. She is very submissive and a little shy at first but wants she warms up she loves belly rubs! She get's that from her mom! She is great with other dogs of all sizes but prefers medium and small dogs. The bigger dogs make her a little nervous. She is working on leash walking, potty training and crate training. She is currently 23 lbs with long legs. She is just a sweet girl looking for love and a place to lounge around! Tammy is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, microchipped, and wormed for internal and external parasites. If you would like more information please email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com. An adoption application can be completed online at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SGDR/Dog Please note that visual breed identification in rescue dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only GUESSING at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Story
❄️ Meet Snow! ❄️ Snow is a 3-year-old, 16-pound Rat Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier blend (our best guess) with all the brains, agility, and entertaining antics you'd expect from those two breeds! Snow came to us from a hoarding situation, so the world has been a little overwhelming for him. He spent his first week doing exactly what he needed—decompressing, observing, and figuring out that people can actually be pretty awesome. When he was finally ready to explore the big dog play yard, he absolutely surprised us! He politely took it all in, made excellent choices, and then decided it was time to wag his tail and gently lick our hands. Before long, he was happily stretched out beside us, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying simply being together. Snow has so much potential. He just needs a family willing to let him settle in at his own pace. Once he feels safe, you can see the happy, loyal little guy that's been waiting to shine all along. Like many dogs who have experienced major life changes, Snow could be a bit of a flight risk during his first few weeks while he learns that this is his forever home. A secure yard, a snug harness, and a little patience will go a long way. Interestingly, when we were with him in the play yard, escaping wasn't even on his agenda—he was perfectly content staying close and enjoying our company. A confident, friendly canine buddy would likely help Snow build his confidence even faster and show him that family life is pretty wonderful. If you're looking for a smart, athletic little sidekick and understand that the best friendships sometimes take a little time to blossom, Snow may just be your perfect match. Watching him discover how wonderful life can be is a reward all its own. ❤️

Her name is pepper and she is 11 years old. She is handicapped. About 8 years ago she was paralyzed from the hind legs and had to undergo surgery. Now she can walk and run but still has issues with her back right leg. She does have bladder issues due to not fully gaining all her feeling back to her lower half. She is a lover and is great with people and kids. She loves to run but can’t for too long because her back leg will start to give out.

Story
George was a stray that found his way into someone’s backyard. They didn’t know how he got in but they were determined to keep him in. They were unsuccessful. They tried to fix their fence to keep him in but he kept finding ways to escape. Finally they decided he wasn’t a good fit for them. George wanted to be an inside dog! He wants to be a part of the family. He wants to sleep in the bed with you and sit in your lap! George has done great with his temporary family. He does not try to escape anymore. He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested negative. Now all George needs is someone who will love him as part of their family!

Story
Welcome Atticus to CCPAL Rescue. Atticus is a Rat Terrier from the local breeder in Texas. He is a traditional Black and Tan Rat Terrier. He was born on March 12, 2026. He will be getting his vaccinations, neutered, dewormed and ready for his forever home. He will be a small dog full grown. 15 to 18 pounds or less. Atticus was really good in his photo shoot and sat like a big dog getting photos. Atticus is one of the middle-sized boys. He is playful and very sweet. The breeder for this litter is closing shop due to an illness. We have agreed to help get her population down starting with the puppies. This breed is smart, loyal and the puppies are affectionate. Someone who knows this breed would be best. They are energetic so a moderately active family or more active would be best for the Rat Terrier. Atticus would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Rat Terriers are great family pets and watchdogs for their family. Their training is easier due to their intelligence and a light touch is needed. They are a wonderfully sensitive breed and from experience want to do what you are asking. Atticus is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. We have an entire litter of Rat Terriers. They are from a breeder. We don’t have papers but they are considered pure bred pups. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video
