Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Lilo! This sweet and resilient girl is a female Rat Terrier/Jack Russell mix, born around June 12, 2021, and weighing a petite 13.5 pounds. Lilo's story is one of rescue and hope. A kind senior citizen saved her just in time from the euthanasia list at San Antonio Animal Care Service. Unable to keep Lilo herself, she brought her to us, determined that this loving dog deserved a second chance at life. We are so glad she did! Lilo is a very friendly and affectionate companion who will quickly steal your heart. While she adores people, she can be a little temperamental and protective when meeting new dogs, so she needs a patient home that will provide slow, careful introductions. Once she knows another dog is a friend, her true sweet nature shines through. Are you the right person to give Lilo the forever home she deserves? You can apply to adopt her on the A Doggie 4 You website. Her adoption fee is $300. Bring Lilo into your life and experience the joy of rescuing a wonderful pet! This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 7, 2025, 12:07 am

Story
Welcome 4-year-old Bowser to CCPAL Rescue. Bowser is a Rat Terrier mix. We think he is mixed with Dachshund. He appears to be house trained because he doesn’t like to go in his kennel even though there is a wee pad. He is smart. He is adorable and weighs about 15 pounds. He is good on a leash and knows the sit command. He is lower on the shedding scale. He loves car rides and if he is off leash and you need him to come, you can open the car door and he will jump in. The only thing he isn’t great at is nail trims. He doesn’t like them, so we let the vet techs do that at his appointments or his groomer. He would be a great walking companion. He has lived in a home with small children and did great. We would like all the children to be 8 or older. He is very affectionate and liked it when Colin held him today. He can run very fast and he comes when you call. He is good with other dogs, even when bigger than himself. He isn’t over vocal and will bond deeply to his human. Many people love the Rat Terrier breed because of their loving nature. He is currently in Texas at the CCPAL Rescue. He is getting his vaccines topped up and will be ready for his new forever home as soon as we find his placement. We think a moderately active family would be best. He is loving and cuddly but will need a yard to play in or a walk daily to get his exercise in. He is a Rat Terrier so he will have fun checking the yard for rodents. He can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Porltand, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video!!

Meet Tina! She is a 1 year old rat terrier/heeler mix rescued with her mom, sister and younger siblings after being dumped in a bad area of town. She is very submissive and a little shy at first but wants she warms up she loves belly rubs! She get's that from her mom! She is great with other dogs of all sizes but prefers medium and small dogs. She is just a sweet girl looking for love and a place to lounge around! Tammy is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. Story
Bess is a sweet and tenderhearted dog who is about 4 years old and weighs 14 pounds. We rescued her and her 2 puppies Billy and Buddy from someone's yard near the border of Mexico. She does have a warm-up period when meeting new people. Once she knows you will be kind to her, she loves to get attention and affection. Coming from the environment she was in previously, it is apparent that she wasn’t handled very much so she just needs time to trust and know that she is in a safe space. She gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue. She would do best in a calm and patient home where she can acclimate to her new surroundings and learn to trust. For the first few weeks, use a harness when walking her until she gets used to you. She is a wonderful dog who just wants a family to call her own! Bess is at our rescue in Hondo, Tx and a meet and greet can be arranged with an approved application. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $325. If you would like to add this tender cutie to your family, please review our process and complete an application here - https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Services our dogs receive prior to adoption: Chagas Testing Heartworm and Tick Testing (age appropriate) All age-appropriate vaccines Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives Spay/neuter surgery Microchip *The breed(s) listed are guessed and based on the dog's physical appearance* Bess tested positive for heartworms and has been treated. Bess tested positive for Chagas disease and has started treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs. For more information, please review here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/chagas

Story
THEY DO NOT HAVE TO BE ADOPTED TOGETHER. These girls were surrendered by a good samaritan who rescued the Mom not knowing she was pregnant. They adopted out all but 2, Thelma and Louise. They lived in an apartment so the girls did not get much time outside until they arrived here. It took a few days for them to trust us. Now they love to run and play, and are very vocal about it. They were semi bonded but are now showing signs of being more independent and being on their own. They do have lots of energy too! They are not leash trained and will need to work on that, but if given a chance they would make great companions. If interested in meeting the girls please email us for an application.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌿 Meet Olive — The 7-Pound Superstar With a Heart Bigger Than Texas! 💚✨ Move over, big dogs — Olive has entered the chat, and she’s here to prove that size is deeply overrated. At around 1–2 years old and a perfectly pocket-sized 7 pounds, this terrier mix is ready to take her rightful place as your resident tiny adventurer, blanket burrower, and professional bringer of joy. Found on the streets of San Antonio, Olive has mastered the art of being cautiously curious — she’ll check out new things, but she’s polite about it. Think: “Oh hi, I’m interested, but also… are you going to murder me?” Once she realizes you’re safe, she’s playful, friendly, and absolutely precious. She’ll thrive in a calm home or a small family with older children — younger kiddos move a little too unpredictably for her delicate nerves. (Relatable, honestly.) But let’s talk about her hobbies, because Olive is basically a tiny connoisseur of the good life: ✨ Crinkle toys: 10/10, very satisfying ✨ Soft blankets: the fluffier the better ✨ Butt scratches & gentle ear rubs: yes, please, forever ✨ Being part of the pack: lap dog energy = strong ✨ Fast walks & slow jogs: her favorite cardio routine Despite her petite frame, Olive is down for almost any adventure — neighborhood strolls, mild nature trails, camping, road trips, you name it. She’s good with cats, good with other dogs, and good at making you say “How does something this small have THIS much personality?” She’s the perfect combination of brave and snuggly, quirky and sweet, tiny and mighty. What she lacks in size, she makes up for in heart, charm, and comedic timing. If you’re looking for a little dog with a big spirit and an even bigger desire to be your best friend, Olive is ready to shine her way straight into your life (and probably onto your lap). 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org — this pocket-sized princess is ready for her happily-ever-after!

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🥒 Meet Pickles — The Playful, Smart, 12-Pound Goofball You Didn’t Know You Needed! 💚🐾 If you’ve been craving a dog who’s equal parts fun, snuggly, smart, and delightfully mischievous… congratulations — you’ve just found your guy. Pickles, a 1–2-year-old terrier mix weighing in at a perfect 12 pounds, may be small, but this boy has more personality than a whole jar of his namesake. Found on the streets of San Antonio, he’s traded pavement for playtime and is now ready to relish life with a family of his very own. Pickles is playful, gentle, and highly intelligent — the kind of dog who picks up on routines, learns quickly, and always tries to figure out what his humans want from him. (Treats. You want to give him treats. That’s the correct answer.) This boy LOVES his toys: 🎾 A good game of fetch? Yes sir. 💪 Tug o’ war? Absolutely. 🎉 Wubba toys? His soulmate. But after playtime, Pickles is totally down for a solid cuddle—and he gives the warmest, floppiest snuggles known to mankind. A family who enjoys playing and relaxing will suit him perfectly. He’s a big fan of: ✔️ Belly rubs ✔️ Butt scratches ✔️ Gentle ear massages ✔️ Being told he’s a very good boy (because he absolutely is) He’s great with other dogs and critters, though he does enjoy a joyfully enthusiastic cat chase here and there—nothing serious, just a flirtatious little “Hey cat friend, run so I can follow you!” kind of vibe. And for the active folks? Pickles LOVES a good long jog. He’s the perfect mix of athletic and cuddly, with a side of comedic charm. Pickles is ready for a family who will laugh with him, love him, teach him, and let him finally feel like he truly belongs. He’s so ready to make your life brighter, funnier, and way more entertaining. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org — Pickles is ready to add some crunch, charm, and cuddles to your home!
