Rescued from a severe hoarding situation with approximately 100 other dogs, Cosmo has experienced trauma that shaped who he is today, but it doesn't define his future. Cosmo is not a dog for everyone. He is extremely anxious in new environments and with unfamiliar people, and he has a bite history stemming from fear. When cornered, grabbed, or overwhelmed, Cosmo will defend himself. He requires an experienced adopter who understands fearful and reactive dogs. ・An experienced adopter/foster who respects his boundaries and can read canine body language ・A calm, predictable environment with minimal stress ・No young children or chaotic households ・Time and space to feel safe Despite everything he's been through, Cosmo has moments of sweetness. Snickers has been in the family for the last 10/11 years. My grandfather took care of him mostly and he recently passed. We are going through a lot of life changes and can no longer provide him the love & care he deserves. I was Snickers second “caregiver” and I will no longer be in the picture unfortunately. He is super sweet and has never growled. He is super shy around people but once he gets to know you he’s fine. He lived in an outside/inside area so he’s not well house trained and does like to mark his territory. He knows how to use the bathroom on puppy pads. I am looking for someone who is willing to take care of this senior baby. He hasn’t been to the vet in 3 years and does not have any updated shots to my knowledge. He is in wet food right now due to dental issues I believe. He is SO adorable & sweet but unfortunately as my grandfather got older he wasn’t able to give him the best care.
