Story
This stunning girl is Ellie! Ellie is an approximately 3.5-year-old female Redbone Coonhound who weighs around 45 lbs. She was rescued from a local shelter. If you're looking for a new best friend who will stick by you through all your adventures, look no further than Ellie! This loving and athletic female dog is affectionate and curious, and always eager to learn more about the world around her. Although we don't know if she's good with other dogs, she is a friendly and playful pup who would love to go on walks, hikes, and runs with you. With a heart as big as her love for cuddles, Ellie is sure to bring joy and laughter to any home. Ellie is a mature dog, so we are looking for a family who is prepared to take on the responsibility of adopting a dog. If you're ready to open your heart and your home to this special girl, please get in touch with us today! She's waiting for you. Ellie, in true hound fashion, loves singing the song of her people (but not exceedingly), so she would not do well in an apartment setting. Needs a very secure stockade (wood) fence for her to play in! She has been fine with the children that she has met at outreaches. We don't know if Ellie is house-trained as she is in a boarding situation. She is in a run at night and may need some continued assistance with leash-training. We recommend a harness. Since Ellie is currently in a boarding situation, she qualifies as a foster-to-adopt or a foster. Ellie is spayed, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, current on HW preventive and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $225. To adopt Ellie, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application. To foster Ellie, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/foster-application.

Story
Sammy, Sammy, Sammy!  Hi, I’m Sammy—the lovable and handsome pup you’ve been waiting for! I’m 7 months old, weigh about 40 pounds (and I’m still growing), and I’ve got the perfect mix of playful energy and laid-back lounging skills. I’m housetrained, I sleep through the night like a champ, and I’m crate trained too. Okay… I’ll admit it—I sometimes bark like a baby seal when I first go in , but don’t worry, I calm down quickly and then it’s snooze time. I’m also pretty clever—I already know how to sit, stay, and even use the doggy door! I love chew toys, puzzle games, and frozen peanut butter or yogurt treats (seriously, the best!). I play great with other dogs, but I’d also be perfectly happy being your one-and-only. After a good play session or walk, you’ll usually find me stretched out and lounging right by your side. I’m always up for walks, car rides, or any adventure, as long as I get to be with you. I would really LOVE a large yard to run around in since I still have that puppy energy. I’m playful, cuddly, smart, handsome, and loyal—basically the full package. All I need now is my furever family. Ready to meet Sammy? Story
Hello, I’m Rusty between 1-2 years old. I am a handsome foxhound, maybe mixed. I weigh 65 pounds. I get lots of compliments on how I look when walking with my Nana. I love playing with adults or children. I am loving, sweet and obey. I am trainable. I’m house and crate trained. I love it out side but I stay inside while Nana is at work. Nana loves me and had a difficult time making the decision to allow me to be adopted. Even though she tried many options first. She works all day and has health issues that keeps her physically ill. I come with current vaccinations , 4 months of flea, tick and heart worm tabs. Also, 2 newish dog beds, Lg bag of dog food and treats. New collar and leash. Tested negative for HW.. Nana loves me and I’m really loyal to her, cause she takes good care of me. She has a decor friendly crate if you want to look at it.

We are looking for pet parents that provide vet care such as routine vaccines for their pets and heartworm prevention for dogs. Please understand we do cross check vet references and landowners/landlord policies and cannot process applications with incomplete or incorrect information. We asked that you take your newly adopted dog for a vet exam in the first 30 days to establish with your vet and obtain their heartworm prevention prescriptions and have a fecal exam administered as some pets may need additional de-womer after leaving our care.    Please submit a  Pre-Adoption Questionnaire by clicking the hyperlink if visible or visiting  Our Home Page to the application link  to show your interest in adoption.
