Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Hounds! Such wonderful, loving, goofy dogs. And here is Hank, sweet right down to his red feet. How could he ever have made it into a rescue and not be beloved by his family? Well, Hank was born into a hunting family , but he refused to hunt. He didn't want to hurt any other animal! So, sweetness or not, he had to go. Here is what his foster has to say about him; "Hank, low key calm guy. Not bothered by other dogs at all. Doesn’t seem to have much of a prey drive." He just wants to be a good ole boy and be loved. Because he is a hound, we are asking that his adopter have a physical fence to keep his nose from following any special scents. Hank alos needs another friendly dog to help him get comfortable in his new home. We have made sure he has all his shots , so he is ready to be your own special boy. He promises to make you laugh when he runs about in your backyard or on a walk with those big ears flapping in the breeze. Ready for fun? Hank is your guy!   If you are interested in Hank, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 8, 2024, 5:07 pm

Story
Copper was surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. Copper is a 3-year-old, Redbone coonhound that currently weighs 53 pounds. He is a very handsome, but very energetic guy! He has never lived inside a house; with his previous family he lived in the barn with a kennel run. He will need someone that understands that he will need to learn what living in a home is all about. He is an outgoing guy that does jump up when excited but is working on this here at the shelter. Copper has never been around children and may be too much for small children, so an age restriction for children in the home may apply, please discuss this with shelter staff. Copper is a happy guy that would love to find his loving forever home soon! A knowledge of hounds would be best for his future family. He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/Lyme tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter. Story
Say hello to happy-go-lucky Waylen! This happy hound boy was brought to us as a stray and is looking for a home to call his own! Waylen is a very talkative pup, and loves to run around the yard to play or sniff. He will need some work on his leash manners as he gets very excited when he is out and about and tends to pull on the leash. He does significantly better when on a harness and would do best walking on that compared to a collar. Waylen is very treat motivated, and very smart and will be excited to learn more with a patient owner! At this time Waylen knows sit, paw with both feet, and down! His favorite toy has been anything that makes noises and that he can chase around the yard! Waylen has been picky with the dogs he befriends and would do better as the only dog in the home or with a calm, non-reactive dog. He is very interested in cats, and may not be the best fit for any feline friends. We would be happy to cat-test Waylen further upon request. This happy boy has done amazing with kids! He is very respectful and gentle with children of all sizes and would not mind having young human friends in his forever home! If you would like to meet Waylen and potentially welcome him into your home, stop by and visit with him today! Waylen is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Availability date: 08/09/2023
