Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Hounds! Such wonderful, loving, goofy dogs. And here is Hank, sweet right down to his red feet. How could he ever have made it into a rescue and not be beloved by his family? Well, Hank was born into a hunting family , but he refused to hunt. He didn't want to hurt any other animal! So, sweetness or not, he had to go. Here is what his foster has to say about him; 'Hank, low key calm guy. Not bothered by other dogs at all. Doesn’t seem to have much of a prey drive.' He just wants to be a good ole boy and be loved. Because he is a hound, we are asking that his adopter have a physical fence to keep his nose from following any special scents. We have made sure he has all his shots , so he is ready to be your own special boy. He promises to make you laugh when he runs about in your backyard or on a walk with those big ears flapping in the breeze. Ready for fun? Hank is your guy! Story
Meet Sheeran! Breed: Redbone Coonhound Mix Estimated DOB: 01/19/2022 Sex: Male - neutered Weight: 45 lbs Currently Up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations Things To Know about Sheeran: A survivor of the harsh January ice freeze, Sheeran was found as a mere bag of bones due to his gentle nature and refusal to hunt. Thanks to a team of rescuers and fosters from Mississippi to Pennsylvania, he now weighs a healthy 55 lbs. Not one to bark unnecessarily, Sheeran embodies the serene qualities of his breed. He doesn't seem to be a big barker unless he needs to warn you about something. He possesses an unmatched level of affection and desires nothing more than to be by your side, offering companionship and love. He is very sweet and just wants to be loved on with a warm home and family to call his own. Sheeran is good with other dogs and would love another dog to play with, but can also be an only dog. He was also not interested in the cats that we exposed him to. He walks well on a leash, making him a qualified walking, hiking, or even running partner. He is good in a fenced-in yard. Sheeran has learned how to use a dog door and is currently being worked with to be fully housebroken. He boasts impeccable manners: he's never messy in his crate, willingly enters, and remains calm and quiet.  Sheeran is now looking for a forever home where he can spread his love and joy. Despite his past struggles and neglect, his spirit remains unbroken, eager to become a loyal and loving member of a caring family. Story
Piper is a super sweet 3 month old pup that has just arrived from Tennessee with her siblings.  She is quite the cuddler and loves to be held and play. She has a lot of energy and would do great with another dog in the home and a yard. She is current on her shots and is microchipped.  She currently lives with several children and is great with all.  All puppies are $350 adoption fee with a $150 spay deposit.  Please be within one hour of Thornedale, Pa. She would do well in a home with another dog.  If you rent, you must have landlord approval in writing to adopt.  You can apply for her here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FHPA/Dog  April 12, 2024, 5:54 pm
