My name is Duke and I have quite the story to tell! I was once running at large all around west Tennessee. I was on my own for so long that my hair went away and I got real skinny. I wasn't in good shape, but someone found me and took me to the shelter! I was quickly taken by a rescue so I could get healthy! I came to my current home in pretty rough shape, but I got so much love and affection that I started looking like a beautiful Redbone again! I was very hungry all the time and I'm still a hungry boy, but I know that I get food every day now! Since coming to my new home, I've gained a lot of weight and am getting healthy! I get medicated baths a few times a week and love snacks throughout the day. I'm excited to show-off new pictures as I get healthier-and-healthier! I am a very nice boy and love getting attention and pets. I am a hound and can be kind of loud at times, but that's just my personality. I would love to find my forever home one day! I would love to meet you and your family!

We are shocked that small hound queen Opal is still looking for her furever home as she is serious hound girl perfection! Voted most statuesque hound and best squirrel & bird watch hound of the HERO House, Opal is about 8 years young, about 35-40lbs. Opal is a little on the shy side at first, but once she acclimates to her home, she is a loving, affectionate constant companion who loves to spend her time sprawled out on a couch or bed after her long shifts of watching the trees for critter activity. Opal is on slow kill treatment (provided by HERO) for heartworms due to her age & smaller body type. This does not stop her from enjoying the yard on a sunny day & shorts romps in the yard with the pack. Opal will play for short periods of time, but like any senior gal, she is way more interested in relaxing & getting love than playing with the pack. Opal prefer a calm home where she can enjoy the simple good life. She does well with our toddler when he is not being a crazy toddler, but often avoids him & his toddler antics. Opal would does love being loved on, so calmer, older children should be fine. Opal is seriously one of the most well behaved hounds we have ever had, though sje can get a little bouncy and let her hound hound shine for food & treats. Unlike many hounds, we believe Opal would be amazing as an only dog. She does not like being in a crate and is mot destructive when left out alone in the home. Anderson is wondering if there is a fun loving pup who wants a best friend and pup brother? Anderson is an energetic, happy, loving 2 yr old hound mix (most likely with pointer) who loves to play with everyone he meets from dogs to people to everyone . Andersons biggest issue is that his hound instincts can take over and he can be a little bit of an escape artist. He doesnt go far, but he does love to follow his nose, so a secure tall fence would be ideal for him. Anderson would do best in a home with an active playmate, regular doggy day care or with a family who loves to jog or run with a pup to help him use all that young hound energy. Anderson is good at playing with himself and keeping himself busy as well, but is happiest when playing with other young dogs, big or small, in his foster home. Anderson is fully vetted, crated trained, mostly house trained (he may need some transition time due to change in schedule or housing) and does well with all dogs. Introducing young happy treeing walker girl Lulu to the HERO Hound family! Lulu was found as a stray in rural AL, after nearly 60 days at a shelter, her time was almost up. Luckily experienced coonhound fosters in KY helped offered to give this girl her chance! Lulu is 1-2 years old (maybe younger), 46lbs, spayed and fully vaccinated. She needs to gain a little weight, but should do so quickly out of the stressful shelter environment. She is dog friendly and will be available for adoption as soon as we get to know her a little better and can match her with the right home!
