Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Maybelle is a playful girl with some sass! She was originally adopted from Proverbs as a puppy. Sadly her owner passed away and she is back with Proverbs to find a new forever family. Maybelle is a package deal with her dog sister, Mimi. While not blood relatives, they have been together from the start and are a bonded pair. This sweet girl can play for hours with other dogs, but wants to be near her humans & Mimi. She is a hound mix, so she does let her nose get the best of her. A fully secure fenced in back yard is needed. If she’s not playing, she’s sleeping. This beautiful girl is great with dogs & humans. Her foster mom doesn’t not have children or cats. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 29, 2024, 8:25 pm

Story
Dan is a great boy. We adopted him when he was a baby and he will be 8 in June. He has been our only baby since having children. He loves 2-3 daily walks( one mile per walk is great, sometimes more on weekends), cuddling, playing and routine. He broke his back right leg as a puppy and can get anxious if you bump it or get up to quickly from cuddles, otherwise he still runs and plays in his backyard! Dan also has a crooked tail (in the shape of a 7) which he acquired before we adopted him. Though he is great with children, we feel he was living his best life as an only child. When I am leaving for work he does feel anxious, we have a routine of putting him outside or upstairs upon departure. Ideally someone active and works from home would be best for him. He truly is an amazing guy and we are having a difficult time parting with him. We want to make sure he is gaining so much love from his next family.

Story
Meet Davey the Redbone Coondog!!Davey is a soulful and precious old soul. He is approx. 2.5 years old, neutered, and weighs about 55 pounds. All legs and ears this sweet boy would rather be hugged and kissed than run, but when he's running it is something. Beautiful to watch this fella stretch out and clear a yard in a second while my big ole lab lumbers behind. Davey is in a kennel next to cats and chickens, but doesn't seem to notice either. He's lover of people and dogs...and maybe cookies, but is gentle as a kitten.Available dogs are met by pre-approved adopters ONLY after a match is made. The application is the first step. Story
Letty is the sweetest girl with the biggest heart:) she is shy and a little timid but loves to run and play. She had been attacked by another dog before and she has been really nervous around our dogs ever since. We are moving out of our rental and she would be happier in a home without any other dogs so she feels safe. She loves to be outside and play and swim. She is house trained but we haven’t had her spayed yet. She is obedient and crate trained. She just needs a happy home where she can come out of her shell and let her sweetness shine.

Story
My name is Duke and I have quite the story to tell! I was once running at large all around west Tennessee. I was on my own for so long that my hair went away and I got real skinny. I wasn't in good shape, but someone found me and took me to the shelter! I was quickly taken by a rescue so I could get healthy! I came to my current home in pretty rough shape, but I got so much love and affection that I started looking like a beautiful Redbone again! I was very hungry all the time and I'm still a hungry boy, but I know that I get food every day now! Since coming to my new home, I've gained a lot of weight and am getting healthy! I get medicated baths a few times a week and love snacks throughout the day. I'm excited to show-off new pictures as I get healthier-and-healthier! I am a very nice boy and love getting attention and pets. I am a hound and can be kind of loud at times, but that's just my personality. I would love to find my forever home one day! I would love to meet you and your family!

These pups are in Franklin, Tennessee too!

Story
My name is Winnie and I am a loving 7 year old, 50 pound girl that is a beautiful Coonhound breed called a Treeing Walker.   I was found as a stray in the middle of a rural highway and I am such a soft and gentle girl that loves to lay around and sleep and just be an easy couch potato friend.  I am housebroken, love a good tummy rub, pretty nice to all other dogs that I meet and I would be a great companion to a senior, retired person or couple who are looking for an easy dog to love.  I am healthy and spayed and microchipped and I am told that I am pretty, too.  Would you like to have a sweet companion for the next 7-8 years.  I will be happy to make your life so much more special if you invite me home.  Critter Cavalry Rescue is ready to help you adopt me if you write to them at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 29, 2024, 9:05 pm

Story
We saw sweet Ginny on Facebook. She was a stray that ended up in a high kill shelter in Virginia. Shortly after she arrived she gave birth to 4 puppies. The shelter had no idea that she was pregnant because she was nothing but skin and bones. We knew we somehow had to get her here to Tennessee so we put our thinking caps on and a lot of wonderful volunteers drove her to our pick up spot in southern VA where our regular transporter picked her and the babies up on his way back to Nashville. We met them in Nashville at 1 AM and drove the family 100 miles back to the rescue. We knew Ginny was young, possibly still a pup herself and our vet confirmed that she was only 11 months at the time of the puppy's birth. Her pups have all been adopted and now it's Ginny's turn! Walker Hounds are very high energy dogs and can be a little stubborn so make sure you research the breed before you make the choice to adopt. We insist on a fenced yard for her so she can have room to free run and enjoy the rest of her life. These dogs are the number one dumped off breed as their owners will desert them if they don't hunt the way they want them too! We have several of them here at the rescue for that very reason. They are fun loving couch potatoes and will bring you many years of joy and happiness! ADOPTION FEE $400

Story
Sweet Lynda Layne was found in a cornfield eating rotten moldy corn from the ground. She was nothing more than a skeleton with skin. She weighed 31 pounds, now she weighs 50 pounds! We have before pics upon request. She was depressed, starving and defeated, dumped by her owner, as is very common in the south. When a hound dog doesn't hunt the way their owner wants them to, they take them for "the ride". Lynda was one of the lucky ones, she was found by a wonderful lady who took her home and then posted her on Facebook. Of course the owner never came so we took her into the rescue. The first night she was here, she never left my side. She even went potty on the pee pads! She has never had an accident in the house and sleeps by my side every night. You won't find a sweeter more loving dog than Lynda! She is young and healthy. Crate trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated and heart worm negative. She desperately needs a loving home. Could that be you? ADOPTION FEE: $400
