Story
Comet is a beautiful young, big hound boy at about 60lbs and 1 yr old who loves to enjoy the outdoors and cuddles on the couch. In his foster home, he loves to pal around with his humans whether it be outside of the house out doing chores like cutting wood and wandering the woods or just cleaning up inside the house. When he is done with "his chores", he loves to cuddle on the couch and/or lay in bed with his dog foster siblings and his foster parents. When we pulled Comet from the shelter, he spent a month in boarding where he was temporarily kenneled with another dog and did okay in the kennel; however, since being in a foster home, we have learned that Comet is a little claustrophobic and does not like small enclosed spaces which includes a crate. Comet got hurt escaping a crate at his foster home, but luckily is all healed without permanent damage. Due to his dislike of crates, we are looking for a home where his people are home often and he can have free run of the home. So far when left alone uncrated, Comet has not shown any destructive behaviors. We believe he just lounges around with his foster dog siblings. Comet has not lived with small children, but is a calmer big boy, so we believe he would do well with older children for sure and possibly young respectful ones. He is more of a chill boy despite his young age, so we believe he might just prefer a quiet home where he can lounge and enjoy a more retirement style life....even though he is definitely not retirement age lol. Comet is now fully vetted and located in Middle Tennessee, but can be transported for the right family. Story
My name is Duke and I have quite the story to tell! I was once running at large all around west Tennessee. I was on my own for so long that my hair went away and I got real skinny. I wasn't in good shape, but someone found me and took me to the shelter! I was quickly taken by a rescue so I could get healthy! I came to my current home in pretty rough shape, but I got so much love and affection that I started looking like a beautiful Redbone again! I was very hungry all the time and I'm still a hungry boy, but I know that I get food every day now! Since coming to my new home, I've gained a lot of weight and am getting healthy! I get medicated baths a few times a week and love snacks throughout the day. I'm excited to show-off new pictures as I get healthier-and-healthier! I am a very nice boy and love getting attention and pets. I am a hound and can be kind of loud at times, but that's just my personality. I would love to find my forever home one day! I would love to meet you and your family!
