Story
Hanker Chief is a handsome guy with mostly tan fur and just a hint of white, and a presence that’s hard to miss. He looks like a mix of Coonhound, Redbone, and Labrador, though that’s just our best guess. He came to us when a small community shelter didn’t have the space or resources to give him the care he deserved. The change has been a lot for him, and he can feel a bit overwhelmed in the shelter environment, so a little patience will go a long way as he settles in and shows his true personality. The previous shelter shared that Hanker Chief is the sweetest boy. He loves attention, is very friendly, and enjoys being close to people. They also noted that he’s a jumper, which fits his enthusiastic and affectionate nature. At about 2 years old, Hanker Chief is ready for a fresh start with someone who can offer consistency, kindness, and a calm place to land. With time and understanding, he has all the makings of a wonderful companion.

Story
Meet Paco – Your Loyal Shadow and Playful Pup Paco is a handsome brown and white hound mix with a heart as big as his floppy ears. This affectionate boy is thriving in his foster home and is now ready to find a forever family of his very own — ideally one with a fenced yard, a playful dog friend, and humans who will include him in their daily life. He really loves children and will happily play with them for hours. He bonds deeply and loves nothing more than being close to his people. Paco is house-trained, crate trained, great on a leash, and eager to please. He loves to romp and wrestle with other dogs and is surprisingly respectful around chickens — a true southern gentleman. He has been around cats and does well with them. After a fun day, Paco prefers to sleep snuggled up with his foster mom, but he also does great overnight in a crate when needed. Being outdoors is Paco’s happy place. He enjoys exploring, sunbathing, and relaxing in the grass, and he’s a fan of splashing in the water to cool off on warm days. Car rides are becoming more comfortable for him, and with continued positive experiences, he’ll soon be a confident travel buddy. Paco is the perfect match for someone seeking a loyal, cuddly, dog-friendly companion with a sweet spirit and a playful heart. If you’re ready for a devoted shadow who will follow you from the garden to the couch, look no further — Paco is ready to love you for life.
