Story
Meet Marybelle! Marybelle was found with her 4 puppies on the side of the road, but Marybelle did such a good job keeping them safe until amazing humans stepped up! Now that all her kids found homes, she's patiently waiting for her turn. She is a gentle soul and loves people. She's got big ears and a bigger heart! She loves to go for casual walks and adventures, but she's just as content hanging out at the house with her people. She may need some time adjusting to living inside and help to get onto a routine since we aren't sure what her background is like before coming to the RHSPCA. She is food motivated, so that will help with training and maybe just to spoil her more. Marybelle is loyal, loving, goofy and we know that she is going to make the perfect companion. If you're interested in changing this sweet girls life and showing all the love and joy that life has to offer, stop by the RHSPCA today!

Story
Meet this sweet 10-year-old male Redbone Coonhound! This affectionate senior gentleman is happiest when he’s right by your side, preferably curled up on the couch enjoying a relaxing day. He’s a true couch potato with a gentle heart and lots of love to give. He is deaf, so he’ll need a family who is patient and willing to communicate with him through hand signals and touch. After being surrendered by his owner, he’s hoping to find a loving forever home where he can spend his golden years feeling safe, cherished, and surrounded by people who adore him.

EJ is a fun, young hound. He needs someone active, with a big outdoor life that will take him on adventures. He is affectionate and loyal to those who show him love. He would prefer to be the only dog as he doesn't like to share. He is not good with cats or other smaller animals or small people. He really wants to be a working dog.   For more info about EJ and our adoption process please enclose your phone number with your inquiry or call Jacki at 941-587-4612. March 19, 2026, 12:17 am

Story
Hello, Lucy! Lucy is a sweet and petite, redbone coonhound who found herself in a rural shelter with more dogs than adopters. At only a year or two old and 40-45 pounds, she really is a little sweetie! She gets along great with other dogs and is excellent with kids! She is house trained and crate trained too! Currently, she is crated while her foster parents work during the day and enjoys sleeping loose at night. Lucy is a playful, active, young lady who will be most successful with an active family. A fenced in yard and other doggie friends to romp with his her idea of heaven! Tug of war with her canine foster siblings is her favorite game besides counter surfing! Hey, she is almost perfect but she's still a coonhound! If you are ready for lots of fun and a few shenanigans, Lucy Lu would be perfect for you! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3 charitable, foster based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, Va. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
My name is Romeo, if you couldn't tell by my name I am an absolute love bug who is ready for all the cuddles and affection. Romeo is very sweet but he may need some time to warm up to new faces. With a little bit of time, Romeo is looking for his absolute best friend. He loves to sniff around and is so curious about his surroundings. Romeo loves to go on walks or sniff around the park, as long as he is with you he would be the happiest dog in the world. Romeo was previously an outside dog who may need some time adjusting to being an inside dog. He needs someone who has the time to help him adjust to being inside. He is so ready to live inside a warm comfy home. Romeo previously lived with other dogs and they got along just fine. It is unknown how he will react to cats or small children. Are you ready to meet Romeo today? Ask about me!

Story
Dee Dee is a wonderful hound girlie. In typical hound fashion, she is great with people and her nose leads the way. This precious girl is a sweet soul. She LOVES her people! For the family who is fortunate enough to welcome her, she will shower you with affection and follow you around checking out what you are doing. She enjoys playtime, especially with her humans. She will happily play with other friendly dogs or even independently chew on a bone or toy. Dee Dee is very curious and needs to sniff new environments and explore. Once she gets the exploring finished, she is satisfied. A new unchained world has been opened for her and she wants to check everything out. She is also very trusting of her humans. She fully expects to be treated with love and patience, along with guidance and boundaries. Once these things are established, she will thrive! Dee Dee has so many amazing qualities. She likes to give hugs, and she is a very snuggly girl. She likes to lay on her people, or at least lay beside them. The closer to you, the better. She has the gift of making a person feel special. On walks she can get distracted by smells of other animals, and will try to follow the smell. Simply redirecting her path helps get her out of that mode. Due to her former hound life, she should not be with cats or other small animals. She loves food or anything that potentially smells like food. Counters are particularly intriguing for her. Guiding her on her boundaries in the home will be beneficial. Dee Dee does not like sharing her food, so once she is fed, she prefers eating in peace without the fear of her food being taken. This will likely decrease with time as she gets used to being fed regularly. There has already been improvement in this area. She would benefit from a puzzle feeder. Dee Dee gets along with people of any age, but a home with older children and adults would be best due to her love of food. She gets really excited over food and other animal smells. She is crate trained, just be sure to toss in a few treats when she goes in. She has not had any potty accidents in the home. Dee Dee is a fantastic girl, with tons of love and affection to give. In turn, she needs someone to help guide her in exploring this new world that has now opened for her. She is an absolute treasure, you won’t be disappointed.
