Meet Opal! Opal is a sweet, loving 8-year-old Redbone Coonhound who's ready to find her forever home! She's an energetic and playful girl who loves being outside and putting her sniffer to work. This lovely lady is looking for a home with older kids and would thrive in an active family who can keep up with her energy. She's dog-friendly, but we're unsure about cats. Opal is crate and house trained, and while she's sweet as can be, she can get a little jumpy and nippy when she gets excited—so she's best suited for a family ready to guide her through that! Here's what you'll get with Opal: --Spayed -Microchipped Up to date on vaccines If you're looking for a fun, loving, and active companion to join your family, Opal might just be your girl! Story
We got Bear as a puppy from a certified coonhound breeder in November of 2025. We unfortunately have come to the conclusion that we don’t have the time or resources to give him what he needs. He’s an energetic and very sweet dog, who would thrive best with a big backyard to run around in! He’s a big cuddler, the kind that will try to crawl into your lap. He has done well with our 2 year old, and annoys our cat, but seems merely curious of him. I do think he will need some vet care. We have terrible fleas in our backyard and haven’t been able to rid them from him. I’m sure with the right meds he will be good as new, but we aren’t in a financial place to give that to him right now. This is very hard for me and my husband, and I want so badly for him to find a forever home.

Story
Everybody, meet Dolly! Dolly is a 5.5-year old, Redbone-Coonhound. Dolly is a curious and bouncy coonhound that loves to cuddle and play with her doggy friends. Dolly loves to spend time outside taking in the sights and smells; and of course, like any good hound, chuffing at the wildlife that dare cross her line of sight. When the sun goes down, though, she wants nothing more than to cuddle up on the couch or in bed with her people. She's a very adventurous eater, too- you can't let her in your garden if you hope to have anything left to harvest! Dolly is great with other dogs, and she loves kids. If you are interested in Dolly, please reach out to Christopher, at (423) 310-9270. Lynchburg Humane Society is assisting the owners in marketing this pet to help find a new home. Duke’s Journey: From Temporary Sanctuary to Forever Family!🌟We opened our hearts to Duke as a temporary sanctuary to ensure he stayed out of the shelter system. He has thrived in our care—he is house-trained, knows his basic commands, and is a sweet, playful boy who adores kids and outdoor adventures.Due to upcoming lifestyle changes, we will no longer have the quality time to dedicate to him that he thrives on and is used to. We are fully committed to keeping him safe with us until the perfect permanent family is found. To help him settle into his final home, Duke comes fully equipped with his own crate, bedding, bowls, and favorite toys.

Story
Bowie is a 4 year old hound mix. He and his litter mate (Barley, female) need to be rehomed together. Both are very sweet and laid back. They are great with kids, dogs, and cats. However they are very prey driven and he likes to chase deer. They both need to be in a space where they can run free, unfortunately our current situation makes it not ideal for the 2 of them.
