In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.4/7/24 Meet Ridge. Ridge and his siblings were being given away in a parking lot. Luckily, one of our fosters saw this happening and took the last 3. Ridge is approx. 9 weeks old and we believe is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He may have some Catahoula mixed in there too! He sports the trademark 'mohawk' on his back. Good with dogs, cats, and kids. He will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention prior to adoption. We anticipate that he’ll be ready to go to his new home at the beginning of May. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Welcome Skipper to CCPAL Rescue. Skipper is a 90-pound Ridgeback/Dane mix is our best guess. He is a mush to the people he knows and his breed is very loyal. He was adopted out as a tiny puppy and a year and a half later he was found on the streets skinny and with hair loss. He is now back at the rescue and he is doing great. He is friendly to all of us and very happy to see his friends. He didn’t jump up but he does pull on leash. I don’t think he got to do much leash work. He has an adorable widow’s peak. He would be great for a family who has a traveling father or someone not home. You could feel safe that Skipper would keep the family safe. He looks intimidating and has a big bark but very very gentle and goofy to those he loves. He has a low coat and not a big shedding dog. We would like someone who has worked with an extra-large breed or a Ridgeback. He will do good with a strong owner that is willing to work with him to give him direction and training. He is one of our favorites and we think he may be related to JJ who is also available at CCPAL. Skipper has been checked over by the vet and is in good health. He has been given a Bravecto and is growing hair and putting on weight here at the rescue. He would be a great partner for a jogger and due to his large size could definitely keep up with even a faster stride. He can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Unfortunately, his family can no longer care for him. He was adopted as a young puppy to a rescue that doesn’t take their animals back. The family personally tried to rehome him on their own, but to no avail and local shelters are full. He is desperately in need of a new home ASAP! Chance is an affectionate dog that loves to be right by his owner's side. He has a nice medium energy level, but can also lay around for half the day. He enjoys short bursts of play in the yard to tire him out or a nice walk around the neighborhood. Chance cannot get enough pets and belly rubs too! He’s a really wonderful boy! He knows many commands and is fully house and crate trained. Chance is good with dogs but has not been around cats. His ideal family would be one with prior large dog experience and no children under 13 due to his size & inexperience around young kids. A fenced yard is highly preferred. She is golden brown in color with the long legs and ears of a hound. Roo is dog, people, and children friendly. She loves to play and is super sweet. Roo loves to run and play. She needs plenty of room to play, as she is a high energy dog; however, once she plays and expends her energy, she does settle down nicely. At one time, she was with a foster family who had 3 children and several dogs. She loved the children and dogs and played with them well. Roo is now boarding, and she desperately needs a forever home! Roo is being cared for in Mississippi but we do transport. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Also, if you live out of state we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend.
