Story
Would be great for a family with kids over age 7. She loves kids but jumps up in excitement which can be a lot for smaller kids. She barks at strangers but quickly shows her belly to ask for pets. Lots of land to roam would be her ideal but someone willing to walk her often works great too. Sometimes we’d see her digging holes in the yard for her hunts. She is able to jump a regular sized chain link fence but not a standard privacy fence. She spends her time in a kennel while inside because she does not get along with my beagle and I want a better life for her. She has never shown signs of aggression toward my small chihuahua mix or to my neighbors very senior dog (they were best friends). It is unclear if those fights with my beagle were her trying to establish pecking order, resource guarding, or anxious feelings. Because of this, It may be best for her to be the only dog in her new home. She’s very sweet and I want her to spend the rest of her life loved, cared for, and healthy.

Story
Johnny Cash is bottled sunshine and warm breezes. He would love to be part of all your adventures! He is a Velcro dog, where you go, he goes happily. No place is private! Some of Johnny’s litter mates were DNA test and the results..... Rhodesian Ridgeback, Boxer, Terrier, and a sprinkle of silky terrier just so we can laugh. He is tall and long and very soft.He is one of the sweetest and goofiest boys you could ever meet. Everyone that meets him just can’t help but smile. Johnny is 10 ½ to 11 months old. He LOVES everyone – literally EVERYONE! His tail is nonstop wagging when he sees you. He loves to lean into you when you rub his sides. He is great with dogs of all sizes, ages, and genders. He loves to play. He would really thrive in an active home and one with another active dog. Johnny is great with cats and curious of the parrots but overall ignores them.Johnny is very smart boy! He would do best with someone that is willing to continue his training. We see him as a doggie ambassador. He would be excellent as a service dog so he can share his smile with others if that is of interest to his humans. He is crate trained for short periods of time. He does sleep at the foot of the bed. When he is out – he is out! Loves going on car rides. He loves food -he eats his meals and enjoys his fruit and vegetables. While he adores children, we feel it would be best for him to be in a home with older kids. We would worry he would try to chew on their toys and swallow them. He loves his benebones, antlers, non-rawhide chews like greenies or dried sweet potatoes. Johnny Cash is looking for a home that can keep up with his puppy energy and share him with the rest of the world because he is just that awesome!Good with dogs, cats, kids.Johnny Cash ~est Bday~4/21/25_____Standard and Special Breed adoption fees includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please click on the links for adoption application and more information:paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formpaawarren.orgwww.avocato.org***PAAW’s Avocato Catfe’ is open in Farmington Hills! Story
Meet Flint!! Just look at that face – who could say no to that?? Well, Flint is sincerely hoping you can’t pass him by because he is anxiously waiting for life with his forever family! He is the sweetest Rhodesian Ridgeback mix you’ll ever meet! He has an estimated birthdate of 2/6/22 – a super great age having outgrown the ‘puppy’ phase but with many years of love and snuggles left to give you. Flint is heartworm negative, up to date on his vaccines and preventatives, and neutered. He just needs a loving and responsible human to call his own so he can shower them with love, affection, and loyalty. All Flint needs is for YOU to give him a chance to win your heart and become your best friend forever! Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hi, I'm Mindy, but I now know my name as Marley. I'm returning to Last Day Dog Rescue because of life changes in my current family. I am a 2 1/2 year old girl. Google says I'm a German Sheppit. I love people, playing and snuggling. I will want to sleep in bed with you if you let me. I do really like to jump even though I know I'm not supposed to but just can't resist. I am an active rambunctious girl that loves to play ball all day long. I am crate trained, but I prefer not to be crated. I know some basic commands like sit, stay, and lay down. I would really like to be your only animal, as I want all the attention. If you think your home might be a fit, I would love to meet you. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. June 2, 2026, 3:45 pm

Let me be your very best hiking and jogging buddy. I am young, active, and would love a bestie for new adventures. My energy level is medium, and I have some good leash manners. I don't always like other dogs - we would have to meet. I don't know any cats.
