Now, this lovely girl is hoping to find a home where she can finally relax and feel secure. In the shelter, Marcie is often found at the front of her kennel, barking to ask for food and attention — she clearly loves interacting with people! The moment you engage with her, she perks right up and shows her affectionate, eager personality. While she can be a bit nervous in the busy shelter environment, it’s easy to see that underneath it all she is a sweet, loving girl who just wants companionship. Marcie was introduced to off leash play with another large female dog and did great. While Marcie was somewhat interested and behaved excellently when engaged, she made it clear she much prefers the attention of a person, than that of another dog. Good idea to do meet and greet with other pups. With patience, reassurance, and a calm home, Marcie is sure to blossom into a wonderful companion. She would do best with someone who can give her the attention and stability she’s been missing.

I already know lots of commands including sit, stay, down, come, shake, roll over, and more — I absolutely love learning and showing off my skills! I’m also crate trained and leash trained, and I do great with handling for brushing, baths, nail trims, and ear cleaning. Lovely prefers women but has slowly learned to trust certain men with patience and consistency. We don’t know what her past holds, but it’s clear that she’s been through a lot. She deserves a safe, understanding home where she can finally just be someone’s dog. Lovely must be the only pet in the home—no other dogs, no dog parks, and no playdates. She’s extremely loyal and protective of her person, and she takes her job seriously.
