Meet Benny! He has been sponsored so has a reduced adoption fee. All vet care is done and current.
This beautiful baby is looking for his furever home! He is 80 lbs. born 12/27/2020 and is SUCH a love bug He loves to give kisses, get scratches, go on brisk walks/hikes, is very obedient, and knows his commands (very well once you stimulate him enough). He is high energy and does amazing with long lead strolls, constructive loose leash walks, and working on his commands.
Benny is doing ok with cats, although at this time we wouldn't recommend a home with them. I am currently helping him understand the boundaries associated with other animals; he is excitable, curious, playful, but also quite nervous and reserved. It is clear humans have not always had a kind hand with him, but he is quickly learning to trust and let go of that. His experiences with cats and dogs were very limited before coming into rescue. He is all puppy and just wants to play, though doesn’t know boundaries and isn’t experienced. If the animal shows signs of correcting him or reacts, he overreacts out of fear and can easily make a mistake. Again, he is learning the rules very quickly and beginning to respect boundaries as a whole, but will need someone who will continue teaching him!
Benny would do best in a home without other animals, however he could do well depending on personality, temperament, and owner experience.

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs.
All our dogs have been treated with dewormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption.
We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts.
