Story
Mocha is on the search for his forever family. After some unfortunate circumstances caused him to end up at the shelter this handsome fella would love a fresh start! Mocha is a Rhodesian ridgeback mix that would do well with children 10 and up as he can be a bit of a jumper. Mocha will also need to meet any resident canines in his future home. He has previously lived with another dog and has done well meeting canines here at the VBSPCA. He can be very excitable and vocal during play so he will need a canine friend that can match that energy. Mocha has lots of energy so a home that can meet both physical and mental needs will be very important for Mocha`s future success. If you would like to meet Mocha or have more questions please speak with our kennel team who will be happy to help!

Story
Meet Brownie Brownie may just be the perfect match for someone looking for a calm, low-maintenance companion beyond the puppy stage. This almost 3-year-old spayed female weighs 38 lbs, is house trained, current on vaccinations, and officially heartworm free after completing treatment and retesting 4DX negative. Last year, Brownie missed her chance to travel because of her heartworm diagnosis, but now she is healthy, ready, and hoping her forever family is finally out there. Her foster says Brownie is the ideal “work day” dog. She is perfectly content snoozing while her people are busy and isn’t about that early morning lifestyle In fact, Brownie likes to sleep in until almost 11 AM before she’s ready to start her day. Once she gets going, Brownie enjoys leash walks, relaxing with her people, and spending time with other dogs. She has always lived successfully with canine companions and has a calm, easygoing personality that makes her such a pleasant house guest. This sweet girl has waited patiently for her second chance and would make a loving companion for someone wanting a gentle, mature dog ready to settle into family life Adoption fee: $395Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
Covino is a beautiful Catahoula/Pit mix that is looking for his perfect match. This sweet and handsome man takes a bit of time to trust, but as he gets comfortable he really does love to be as close as possible to his people. A family willing to give him time, patience, and love to help him settle in would be perfect. He has has some exposure to cats & dogs previously, so if you have a canine or feline in the home please discuss with our staff about if it could be a good match. He would be required to meet any other dogs in the home prior to adoption. Covino would do best with someone experienced and comfortable helping him work on socializing with people and other animals. He is the sweetest once he is comfortable but this does take him some time. We do recommend that he goes to a home with older children or all adults as loud noises and commotion make it hard for him to settle in, but this is not a requirement at this time. If you have any interest in Covino please speak with our kennel staff and they will be happy to assist!

Story
Ali might seem like a complicated guy, but we are confident once you take the time to meet and get to know him, you will see the sweet and goofy pup we have come to know. Ali was an owner surrender and after sometime working with our staff we finally have gotten him to come out of his shell. Ali will need a special home that will give him time and patience to settle into a new life. Ali will need to meet everyone that resides in his new home prior to adoption. He may require multiple visits to make sure he is comfortable with you and you are comfortable with him. Teenagers 16 and up in his home as he has never lived with young children or really interacted with them. We are recommending that Ali is not for a first time dog owner and we are asking that his future family be sure to do slow introductions with new people and animals. Ali has lived with another dog and has meet a few dogs while here at the VBSPCA and done well. We will require a meet and greet of any canine residents in the home. Thus far Ali really enjoys walks with our staff and some good treats to snack on (its how we won his heart). Our kennel team will go over in more detail about how to set up Ali for success in his future home when you visit. If you have any questions or just want more info about Ali or any of our available canines please speak with our kennel team and they will be happy to help.
