Meet Mocha! This lovely young handsome Rhodesian ridgeback mix came in with his friend Brew (8558) when their owner was no longer able to care for them. These too lovely pups would love to go home together! We recommend children 10 and up as they can be a little jumpy and wild (x2) and this could be a bit overwhelming for small kids. However if you have younger kids and think this is something your family can handle please speak with our kennel team and we can discuss. If you have other canines in the home we will require dog to dog introductions to make sure everyone gets along. Both pups are still young and could use some refreshers on potty and crate training. They both love people and are hoping for a fresh start here at the beach!

Freyr is an 8-month-old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Cane Corso mix looking for a loving new home. Due to our busy schedules, we’re not able to give him the time and attention he deserves, so we want to find a family that can. Freyr is house-trained, up to date on all vaccinations, and has never shown any aggression. He is very affectionate and loves cuddling up next to you. He also enjoys walks on the beach and spending time outdoors, but he’s just as happy relaxing with his people. He’s a loyal, sweet dog who thrives on companionship and would do best with someone who has the time to give him plenty of love and attention. Meet Penny! This active and absolutely sweetheart Rhodesian mix is on the search for her forever family. She is still an active girl even though she is ten. She would love to do daily walks or even short hikes to help burn some of that energy. We recommend children 6 and up as she can be a bit of jumper and gets little bit too excited for little ones. Penny is said to be friendly with dogs and cats though she might be a bit much for cat not use to canines. Penny has been seen by our vet team and given the all clear for adoption! She has a few lipomas that will need to be monitored for any growth or issues but at this time do not need removal. While she may be older don`t let this stop you from meeting this wonderful lady today!

Ali might seem like a complicated guy, but we are confident once you take the time to meet and get to know him, you will see the sweet and goofy pup we have come to know. Ali was an owner surrender and after sometime working with our staff we finally have gotten him to come out of his shell. Ali will need a special home that will give him time and patience to settle into a new life. Ali will need to meet everyone that resides in his new home prior to adoption. He may require multiple visits to make sure he is comfortable with you and you are comfortable with him. Teenagers 16 and up in his home as he has never lived with young children or really interacted with them. We are recommending that Ali is not for a first time dog owner and we are asking that his future family be sure to do slow introductions with new people and animals. Ali has lived with another dog and has meet a few dogs while here at the VBSPCA and done well. We will require a meet and greet of any canine residents in the home. Thus far Ali really enjoys walks with our staff and some good treats to snack on (its how we won his heart). Our kennel team will go over in more detail about how to set up Ali for success in his future home when you visit. If you have any questions or just want more info about Ali or any of our available canines please speak with our kennel team and they will be happy to help.

Hercules and Megara found themselves in a shelter in Puerto Rico at 2 months old. At a year old they are still there waiting for their chance at a better life. At Caribbean Paws, we’re doing everything we can to give them a fresh start and help them become part of a loving family. Like so many deserving dogs in PR, there just aren't enough homes on island and we must fly them to the mainland to have a chance at finding a home. Hercules and Megara are 1-year-old, 25–35 lb, up to date on vaccines, and ready to take that next step. They are curious, smart, and full of fun-loving energy. They have always lived together and will need time to adjust to life beyond the shelter. They need someone willing to give them that second chance.
