Story
Mocha is on the search for his forever family. After some unfortunate circumstances caused him to end up at the shelter this handsome fella would love a fresh start! Mocha is a Rhodesian ridgeback mix that would do well with children 10 and up as he can be a bit of a jumper. Mocha will also need to meet any resident canines in his future home. He has previously lived with another dog and has done well meeting canines here at the VBSPCA. He can be very excitable and vocal during play so he will need a canine friend that can match that energy. Mocha has lots of energy so a home that can meet both physical and mental needs will be very important for Mocha`s future success. If you would like to meet Mocha or have more questions please speak with our kennel team who will be happy to help!

Story
Meet Rocky Road, a very playful and energetic dog who is ready for any adventure you bring his way! He was recently returned to us due to no fault of his own. He is potty trained, does well with other dogs, and people of all ages. Rocky does have some separation anxiety but that just means he loves your company! With consistent training this can be worked on and improved. He needs an active owner who is able to provide him with daily exercise and mental stimulation because his breed is a working dog breed. This is very important and can/will become destructive inside the home due to boredom. If you feel you might be a match please fill out an application to see him!

Story
Meet Catalina  – A Beautiful Catahoula mix girl puppy looking for her forever adventure with you!   Catalina is a gorgeous puppy who was born on April 14th and currently weighs 14 pounds as of July 6th .  Her momma is colored just like her and is a Catahoula mix (mostly Catahoula) and is the most wonderful young adult girl with a beautiful spirit and temperament.  All the puppies have received her personality that is loving and fun and confident.    Like so many puppies across the South, Catalina was born to a momma dog that was a stray and the litter of 8 puppies were with a struggling single mom with 3 kids that found her jpregnant and needing a place to have her babies.  At 6 weeks Critter Cavalry Rescue took the big family with their momma and promised to help find everyone a home that would be perfect for them.  Miss Catalina has been raised around young children, other grown dogs, her puppy siblings and has attended many  Puppy Yoga classes at the local YMCAs in Tennessee.  She is no stranger to meeting new people at all.  Currently her foster home is teaching her crate training, potty breaks and routines and she is coming along nicely.  Her active breed and intelligence for exploring and seeking new adventures, will require her to be in a home with a fenced yard.  She will most likely be a 50 pound adult like her beautiful mom Katyia.     This sweet girl is everything you love about a young vibrant, cuddly fun puppy.  She is smart, curious, playful, and eager to explore the world around her. She is quiet and yet can get the playful zoomies when encouraged by her playmate canines.  She will easily form strong bonds with those who show her kindness.   Catalina loves other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion to play with and also cuddle. She would also thrive as the center of attention in an active home. Most importantly, she is ready to begin making memories with a family who will include her in their adventures.   A securely fenced yard will be a requirement for Catalina's new future home.  This will give her a safe place to run and burn off puppy energy. Daily walks, outings, and continued training will help her grow into the amazing companion we know she can be. All she needs now is someone willing to take a chance on her. In return, she’ll spend every day showing her gratitude with tail wags, kisses, and unwavering devotion.   ❤️ If you’re looking for a best friend to share life’s adventures, Catalina  may be the perfect match. To learn more or apply to adopt her, please email ccrnewengland@gmail.com and tell us where you live when inquiring. Critter Cavalry Rescue is based in Tennessee and adopts throughout Tennessee and the Northeast, with transport available almost every weekend.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 9, 2026, 6:31 pm

Story
Meet Sweet Maple—the little girl who is equal parts adventure buddy, cuddle bug, and backyard comedian.   Born April 14th to a gorgeous Catahoula mix mama with a gentle, loving personality, Maple and her seven siblings were given a wonderful start in life. Their mama passed along all the good stuff: sweetness, affection, and a happy, easygoing nature.   Maple is a playful, rambunctious puppy who believes life is meant to be explored. She loves zooming around the yard, chasing her tail, climbing, going down slides, and finding whatever fun is happening nearby. After she has burned off her puppy energy, she is more than happy to come inside, snuggle up with her people, and sleep the afternoon away.   She is currently fostered with other dogs, a 3-year-old toddler, and a 13-year-old teenager, and she does well with everyone. Maple is also learning the important puppy basics, including crate training and housebreaking—and she is already showing off great crate manners.   Of course, Maple is still a baby, which means she is in the famous puppy nibble phase. Shoes, charging cords, fingers, and toes are all very exciting discoveries right now! A good supply of sturdy chew toys and patient redirection will help this little girl learn what belongs in her mouth and what does not.   Maple is expected to be around 50 pounds when fully grown and will make an amazing companion for an active family. She would love walks, hikes, jogs, camping adventures, dog-friendly outings, and a fenced yard where she can play safely. A home with children over age 3 and perhaps another dog would be especially wonderful for this social, happy girl.   Sweet Maple is ready to bring laughter, love, puppy kisses, and a whole lot of joy to her forever family. To adopt her, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.
