Story
Brownie Butters the Bestest Boy is not the cutest pup you’ve ever seen? With a face like that, paired with those big golden-brown puppy eyes, he is hard to resist. It also doesn’t hurt that he has a forever-puppy face that everyone loves. Brownie Butters is more than just his looks—he has a happy-go-lucky, go-with-the-flow personality. He is dog friendly, super smart, kid friendly, and loves everyone he meets. What more could you ask for in a companion? Watch his video and fall in love with this handsome boy: https://youtu.be/810fjo1wOIA?si=W2pi9RKDvL8-FQ3i Brownie Butters is a Lab mix, approximately 1 year old, and currently weighs 63 lbs. He is a rescue dog, and with any rescue, breed and age are always estimates and cannot be guaranteed. Brownie is dog friendly and has done great with all of the dogs he has been introduced to. He loves dogs who enjoy play and have a happy-go-lucky vibe. When he finds a buddy who likes to play the way he does, he’s all four paws down and ready for a game of tag—you’re it! Brownie likes to keep things lighthearted, not overly physical, and prefers to bounce alongside his doggy friends. He’s not all play all the time, so there’s no need to worry about your home turning into a 24/7 dog park. Brownie appreciates calmer moments, and after a good play session, breaks tend to end naturally. You’ll often find him exploring on his own or settling next to a person, soaking up affection. He would do best in a home with a dog looking for a playmate who can match his play style and also enjoys relaxed downtime. When it comes to training, Brownie is highly treat motivated and eager to learn with encouragement. He takes treats very gently and stays focused when learning something new. He already knows how to sit and will sometimes offer it automatically. On walks, Brownie may pull a bit at the start due to excitement, but after a few minutes and some guidance, he settles into a polite and enjoyable walking pace. He loves sniffing all the smells while still checking in with his handler along the way. Brownie is crate trained, potty trained, and has wonderful house manners according to his foster mom. He may have the occasional counter curiosity if something extra tempting is left within reach, so keeping food out of nose range is recommended. Brownie strikes a lovely balance between affection and independence. He isn’t overly needy and doesn’t overdo it with attention. For someone who works from home, he makes an excellent companion—content to relax, window watch, or play with a toy, while stopping by occasionally for a quick ear or nose scratch. He would thrive with a semi-active family looking for an adventure buddy, trail explorer, and loyal companion. Brownie would do best in a suburban home with a backyard where he can stretch his legs and enjoy the sunshine. He is currently fostered in a home with kids ages 12 and up and has done wonderfully with them. He would make a great addition to a family with children. We are happy to test Brownie Butters with anything you need to ensure a great match. Just let us know! Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Ever wish you could fast-forward to the part where a dog already knows how to live in a home, greet guests warmly and be your dream sidekick? That’s Winnie. She’s a 2-year-old, 60 lb sweetheart who is soaking up the good life in foster care while she waits for her forever. Want to watch Winnie in action? Here you go- https://youtu.be/eCDoDAB7KjU Winnie is fostered in a home with another dog, and this is a huge win for her. She gets the kind of steady, real-life practice that helps dogs truly shine: house manners, routines, daily walks, and calm structure. She’s already house-trained and crate-trained, her leash skills can be described as “great walking buddy,” and her foster reports she is wonderful meeting new people out in the world. She’s also met teenagers, hello softball practice mascot, and loved them! Winnie genuinely enjoys people, and she makes friends fast. The day that I met Winnie she was immediately socializing once she was out the car. She is people-seeking and affectionate, and while she does like to meet you half way to a kiss with a gentle jump. It is so gentle I almost felt sad to tell her to get down but once I did she did not do it again. Inside, she settles into that sweet spot where she wants to be near you and happily soaks up affection. Her foster shared that Winnie’s favorite ways to spend her time at home are playing with her foster dog bestie, chewing on a nylabone, or simply napping in her favorite chair. Winnie’s foster did share that when she first welcomed her home she was a bit shy and nervous in the new environment but she let Winnie take it slow and was thoughtful about the dog introduction. This is often a very similar experience to them arriving at their new home which will initially be a new environment. The good news is her foster has already seen what helps her- time to decompress and taking a slower pace as she gets to know her new world. If joining a home with another dog, a playful by not pushy friend would be ideal but she could easily be an only-dog, leaving more room to adore her people. Winnie is going to thrive in a home that understands decompression is part of the welcome mat. She does not need a home with a yard, even with her doggie buddy her favorite place to play is in the middle of the living room rug. Because she is so social and welcoming, it is easy to imagine her in a home that regularly hosts partys or welcomes guests- this would be her dream. Winnie will need a cat-free home. When she met our house cat she was a bit too eager, it is easy to see she would chase a cat in the home which we all know is avoidable chaos. If you’ve got a home with heart and a doors-always-open policy, Winnie promises warm welcomes for every guest and true, heartfelt love for her people. Simply, this girl has that “I can’t believe she’s real” sweetness. Apply today to meet Winnie! He enjoys going on walks and showing off his good leash manners. Hikes would be super fun for him! He enjoys riding around town and running errands, so if you need a buddy to ride shotgun, he’s your guy. He loves to snuggle up on the couch or on a nice soft bed with all his toys. Make sure you’ve got a basket of toys waiting for him, because he loves a good plush toy! Maybe even a trip to the pet store so he can pick out his own. He is such a cutie!
