Story
Meet King, a 3-month-old fluffy Rottweiler mix who was dealt the luckiest of hands when he and his sister Queen were surrendered to the rescue.  Thanks to a foster willing to step up for them, King and Queen have spent their formative weeks in a real home, learning to love and be loved. King can be shy at first, but hold him in your arms and he will melt into you. He is calm and soulful, and sure to be the king of hearts in his forever home! King loves sitting on the couch and getting belly rubs from adults and children. He also does great playing with other dogs, but doesn’t play rough. He’s overall an easygoing puppy with great promise.  According to a breed test done on King, he is half Rottweiler and the other half is made up of 16 different breeds! Woah! (Check out the photo for more specific information.) The second highest percentage is Labrador retriever, but he’s also got small percentages of some fluffy dogs like golden retriever and husky, which explains his super soft, longer coat!  King and Queen are currently working on potty training and crate training, but their forever homes will need to continue the work to perfect their skills. They are both very intelligent and eager to please their humans. Story
Winnie is a confident and affectionate Rottweiler looking for the right home. She is house trained, great with people, and does very well with kids. She loves attention and enjoys being close to her family. Winnie has a high prey drive and cannot live with small animals, including small dogs. She would do best with dogs her own size when proper structure and introductions are in place, but she may also thrive as the only pet in the home. Consistency, leadership, and clear boundaries will be important for her success. Winnie is currently in professional training and will go to her new home with reliable on leash and off leash obedience. Her future owner should be committed to continuing her training and maintaining structure. She is loyal, loving, and will be an incredible companion in the right home. If you want a devoted shadow with muscles and manners, Winnie is your girl. $400 adoption fee covers spay, vaccinations, parasite prevention and microchip. Story
Nox is looking for a home — he’s a story of resilience, growth, and second chances. Pulled from a shelter by our trainer at @gentlewolfdogtraining in early 2025, Nox arrived severely malnourished and clearly suffered a difficult past. Today, he’s healthy, strong, and ready for the right person to step into his world. At roughly 3 years old, Nox is a young adult with a big personality. He’s a well-traveled gentleman (no really, he flies with his foster) who thrives in nature - hiking trails, open space, quiet environments. He’s a dog who wants to lean into capable leadership, not chaos. He experienced the worst kind of cruelty but does not need babying — he needs a human who understands what structured support looks like. Someone who can stay calm, think clearly, and provide guidance, also ideally has experience with the breed. When Nox feels understood and like his person has his back, a different dog appears. He's goofy, charming, sometimes hilariously unsure of how to manage his big body, and full of potential. With other dogs, he does well under clear leadership and benefits from clear boundaries. Nox is not a beginner’s dog. His past has left marks that surface when he becomes overwhelmed, especially during transitions into rest. Nox will only be adopted to an experienced home — someone who respects what a dog with a story needs, and has the means, empathy, and skill set to continue his journey. His next chapter starts with the right person — if that sounds like you, please fill out our adoption application: dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms.
