Story
My name is Bear and here is a little info about me:Breed: RottweilerAge: 2 yrsGender: maleWeight: 55 lbsHeight: tbdHighlights: extremely loving, affectionate, curious, energeticLot of energy, this may help...https://links.goodpup.com/shelter/LALDR I am extremely loving and affectionate once I know you. I can be shy when meeting strangers but it doesn't take me long to consider you my new best friend. My previous owners bought me from a breeder with the intent of breeding me. They did not train me or exercise me so I got my energy out the only way a puppy can, by getting into mischief. This resulted in me being kept in a crate or a tiny hallway with the door shut. I was even hit on occasion resulting in me being very timid around the people who should have been showing me love. Once I was no longer a puppy my family lost all interest in me to the point that I was very close to being euthanized. I wisely ran away and found a loving person who contacted LALDR who immediately took me in. I am now in a foster home and am deliriously happy there.  I'm nervous around new people and other dogs and I am a bit too curious about cats so a home without a cat would be great. I am a very gentle and loving soul. My first foster mom said I am just about perfect except that her cat wouldn't come home when I was there. I was moved to a marvelous home with my foster dad and his other couple of dogs and I'm fitting in well.  I love going for walks so an active home would suit me best I am a very high energy dog. I also love going to the dog park and playing with other dogs. Here's a video of me being, well, just plain cute: https://youtu.be/V0vL2SLcUVI. And I certainly know how to give lovins', kiss kiss kiss: https://youtu.be/SqWCw3sGJys. Here I am, not caring I have a cone on after neutering : https://youtu.be/AzTt3EUPBqA. Energy Level: medium highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: noKids: no Training: My owners didnt bother training me so I don't know much yet. But I am an eager and quick learner. I want nothing more than to please my person.LAL has set up 1 week of free training for me:  https://links.goodpup.com/shelter/LALDR Leash skills: I can walk on a leash, but I am so excited for freedom that I pull. My foster mom is helping me learn my leash manners.  House trained: Yes. Health notes:  I am small for my breed. It is possible my growth was stunted by poor nutrition and by living in a crate too small for me. So I am a mini Rottweiler and just as cute as can be.  My adoption fee is $800 plus taxes. I will be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption.  ##1798603##

Story
Introducing the cute, the cool, Colby!Colby was found on Colpit Road in Williams Lake just roaming around. He was brought into care as as stray and sadly his family never claimed him. He was later transferred down to the Burnaby Branch in hopes of finding a great home. Colby's actual breed is unknown but we think maybe Rottweiler, Shepherd, Pitty, maybe some Cattle dog? Whatever he is, he is a 100% handsome.A sensitive fellow he is looking for a tranquil place to call his home. It is most likely Colby is used to living in a rural area and would benefit from a similar environment. He doesn't love a lot of hustle and bustle (in the home or outside) so an adult only home in a peaceful area is best.Colby can be a little shy with new people, especially if they come on too strong! Often we are taught to extend our hands to say hello to dogs, this isn't recommended anymore and Colby can attest to that. He finds it a little scary.Thankfully he is an excellent communicator and warms up quickly if given a moment to check you out. A couple tasty treats speed up the friendship and he warms up quickly! When he does get comfortable his inner puppy shines and an excitable dog emerges. Colby would benefit from dog training sessions with an Animal Kind trainer to support him in being the best boy. To improve his confidence meeting new people and to help with excitability. On occasion when he gets excited he can jump up and mouth you (sometimes he forgets he isn't a puppy). He needs a kind and confident guardian willing to teach him other ways to deal with his emotions. Teaching alternate behaviours to jumping/mouthing and meeting his needs will set him up for success.Activities like decompression walks in nature, enrichment toys, chews, play will help him relax and bond with you! Colby finds shelter life stressful so down time is just what he needs. He may be prone to some anxiety being left alone initially in his new home. Colby's new family should have some flexibility in their schedule to help him adjust to his new digs.Colby is pretty awesome with other dogs and has a fantastic play style. He has played well with male and female dogs his age. New dogs should always be introduced slowly but he may do great living with a dog.Have the experience and environment to help Colby thrive, find out below how to meet this special guy. Here are some ways to find out:1. Story
Suki is a sweet dog who's a bit shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she's a total cuddle bug! She adores butt scratches and ear rubs, melting into you. However, she's cautious around strangers, especially men, so introductions need to be slow to build trust. Suki seems to get along with other dogs but hasn't met any cats yet.Her favorite pastimes include playing with puzzle toys, gleefully chewing up cardboard games and fetch! Suki is a very playful, silly girl who with patience and love, blossoms into a loyal companion who thrives on familiarity and the warmth of those she knows. She's a gentle soul who just needs a bit of time and understanding to show her true snuggly self. Please come into the shelter during visiting hours if you would like to meet Suki. You can also submit an application online if you would like to save some time when you come visit. While we do welcome online applications, in person meets have top priority.cats:https://spca.bc.ca/survey/cat-adoption-application-vancouver/dogs:https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-vancouver/Our visiting hours are:Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 12-4:30Thursday, Public Holidays: closedSaturday, Sunday: 12-4 Primary Color: Black Brown Weight: 33.8 Age: 2yrs 0mths 1wks

Story
Meet Reuben! This affectionate, energetic, love bug is waiting for his forever home! Reuben is looking for an active family who are willing to work on some training with him. He absolutely loves getting out for walks and adventures, but does need to learn some basic leash manners and recall. Reuben is very food motivated and eager to learn, he's been working on 'sit' and 'lie down', and would thrive in an environment where he can keep his brain active! This love bug absolutely adores cuddles and gets really excited when he gets to see his human friends. He also shows interest in meeting other dogs, so would likely be okay in a home with a canine companion, after slow and cautious introductions. Rue would make an exceptional companion and would fit right in with a busy household where he can tag along on adventures! PLEASE NOTE: This dog is located on the Sunshine Coast and travel via BC Ferries is required to adopt. Appointments are preferred to adopt one of our animals.
