Story
Meet Ida!This 86lb, 4-year-old, Rottweiler came to the shelter as a stray and is a quiet, independent girl who`s happy doing her own thing. She walks nicely on a leash and enjoys getting out for strolls, taking in the world at her own pace. When it comes to other dogs, Ida doesn`t seem to mind them much—she mostly ignores them and prefers to focus on herself. She`s not overly needy and is content hanging out nearby without constantly seeking attention. One of Ida`s favorite things in life is treats, especially pupperoni! If you`re looking to win her over, snacks are definitely the way to her heart. Toys don`t hold her interest for long; she`ll pick one up for a moment and then move on to something else.Ida may have some hearing loss, so she`ll likely appreciate a patient adopter who understands her unique needs. Her calm, easygoing nature makes her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a low-key friend who enjoys the simple things in life.We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please use the link below to fill out the application. Once we receive that back, then we can schedule you a meeting with the animal you are interested in.https://form.jotform.com/261544309434052

Story
Nabit is a dog who seems to understand the value of a good snack and a kind word. When he arrived at the shelter, staff found him to be well behaved and easy to handle, and they quickly learned that treats are a great way to win him over. Beneath his sturdy exterior is a dog who enjoys human companionship and settles in nicely once he feels comfortable. He appears to appreciate having people around and has shown that he can relax and enjoy the simple things in life. Nabit is looking for a home that understands him and sets him up for success. He has lived peacefully with a small dog and has been described as friendly and affectionate with his people. He is treat-motivated, which can make training and bonding both rewarding and fun. Because of his history, Nabit will need a home without cats or other small animals. For the right adopter, he offers the opportunity to welcome home a loyal companion who enjoys attention, appreciates a good treat, and is ready to build a strong connection with his new family. All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter`s care. Story
Ruger is a 4-year-old Rottweiler/Lab/Mastiff mix, around 130 Ibs, and truly the biggest teddy bear. He has the kindest, most gentle personality and has never shown any signs of aggression. He is neutered and up to date on his rabies vaccination.Ruger loves being outside, especially playing with balls - his favorite game is being chased while he proudly carries one around. Inside, he's happy to nap and will absolutely demand head rubs. Our new home just isn't the right fit for a dog his size, and he deserves more space and freedom than we'll be able to give him. Ruger would make a wonderful family dog and thrive in a home that can give him the room and attention he deserves.Because he means so much to us, we will be very selective about who he goes to. Our priority is finding him a loving, safe, and permanent home where he will truly be part of the family.

Story
Pancake is now ready for adoption! He is a quirky guy. He is approximately 10-12 months old and 38 lbs, and still has a lot of puppy tendencies. It's difficult to tell in photos, but he is a very oddly proportioned dog. He has some of the herding tendencies of a corgi, but the looks of a rottie. He is good with dogs and cats, and he will only be available to a home with at least one other dog. He can be very timid around people (hence his name), but warms up when other dogs are around. He has a preference for women, but will warm up for men. He is VERY smart and he figured out a level 6 puzzle toy almost immediately. He is not 100% potty trained yet but is improving. He can be mouthy in a herding dog way. He will mouth when he wants something, if he needs to go potty, or if he wants you to go to bed. While he is good with kids, he can be more mouthy with older kids, so he would be best in a home with dog savvy children and a family willing to work through this behavior. Pancake is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, dewormed, and microchipped

Story
** In a foster home; please call 812-349-3492 for more information**Jasper came to us with one of his eyes in bad shape. A local vet removed that problematic eye and then Jasper, who is a very good boy, went to a foster home to recover. Here's what his foster folks have to say about him: "This fella might be short on sight, but he’s long on personality! Want to take a hike in the woods? Jasper is all for it. A long drive? Yep, he settles right in and enjoys sticking his nose out the window. Even though Jasper is blind, he has a real zest for life and is thrilled to go on walks, dig around in the toybox, and sit pretty for treats. He is snuggly, sleeps like a log, and is just an all-around good dog with the spirit of a lion. Jasper makes good (if not perfect) mental maps of an area and can navigate furniture, doorways, and even stairs. Jasper is housetrained and does great in the crate (it’s his safe spot), plus he is very food motivated. Jasper gets along with other dogs, although he has easily managed resource guarding. He isn’t thrilled with kids, but we’re working on positive exposure, which seems like it’s paying off. Jasper does not do well with cats. If you are looking for an unconditional best friend and companion to join you on every adventure or just chill on the couch, Jasper is your boy. Come check him out! You are sure to love him.
