Story
🩵 Scooby Doo🩵 Scooby Doo was a long-term IndyHumane alum who was adopted in July 2023. He was found wandering on September 29, 2024 as his previous owner was evicted and was not in a position to take care of him. Scooby is a really sweet dog, but doesn’t always give the best first impression. He lacks confidence so at times his first reaction is to bark (his bark is loud). Scooby has met/re-met at least 12 people from his IndyHumane days and has been perfect with each one. Two people he had never met and one of them fostered him for three days. She said he’s an angel! Once you’re a trusted friend, he is great. You can touch his paws (but not a fan of front paws), ears and pet him all over. He loves a good butt and belly scratch. Anyone who puts in the effort to become his friend has been successful. Scooby is a sensitive, large and very strong boy. He looks and sounds more intimidating than he really is as he’s truly a big scaredy. We’re not sure of his background, but it appears there has been some abuse as he can be flinchy and scared of things he doesn’t know or understand. A few other things about Scooby: ● He’s neutered. ● He has never shown guarding tendencies. ● He’s crate trained. ● He’s muzzle trained. ● He’s treat-motivated. ● He knows sit, shake with both paws, down and is great catching treats. ● He knows “gentle” and listens when giving treats, as well as “wait” when feeding. ● When there isn’t anything to react to, he walks perfectly on the leash with an easy walk. ● He did play groups with 1-2 other dogs during his time at IndyHumane and was a rockstar. ● While outside of a shelter environment, he has done well meeting new people and seemed to instantly remember his old friends from the shelter. ● He loves toys and to play fetch. He does not understand how big he is though so could be too much for some. ● He loves box/treat puzzles and frozen Kongs. ● He loves ice cubes. ● He is potty trained and can last 10-12 hours, if necessary. ● He’s 5 years old (3/22/20) and about 115 lbs. ● Current foster lets him roam free in the home while left alone and he’s perfect. ● Current foster has learned that he does not get into anything, including his food and treats that he can easily reach. ● Current foster has learned he does not beg while humans are eating. ● Current foster has learned he loves to snuggle and be close to “his person.” ● Current foster has learned he loves to look out windows and will sit for a long time watching. ● Current foster has learned he does not like loud/raised voices. ● Current foster has seen him transform and settle in the past 7 months. ● Current foster has learned so many wonderful things about this boy that we never knew from the shelter environment. He’s truly an amazing dog. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FLR-A-877

Story
When asked to describe Teddy, our volunteers responded "he's perfect, no notes".....and while we might be a little biased, we can say Teddy is pretty darn great. Teddy is a lover, a very sweet boy! He seems starved for attention but isn’t quite sure what to do with it when he gets it. You can tell he is young and eager to please, but occasionally he gets over excited. Teddy is very treat motivated but sometimes loses focus and needs direction. He'll need an adopter who understands his size and strength - even when he's full of energy! Teddy has just started to understand toys and how much fun they can be! He was very proud of himself when he discovered the rope toy....spending the next few minutes prancing around showing everyone what he had found. He has seen dogs through the fence and reacts loudly - lots of barking. We have not introduced him to dogs otherwise. Teddy does have itchy skin and will likely have lifelong allergy issues. Due to his size and his very big bark, we will not adopt Teddy to a family with an apartment. He's so easy to love and we know the perfect family is out there waiting! *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt *Please note that we do not operate on a first come first served basis.

Story
Hi! My name is Kona and I`m the sweetest girl you`ll ever meet! I look big and scary, but I`m actually just a princess who loves anyone who can me scratches and cuddles. Training can be a little tricky since I`m not food motivated, but I am super eager to please!I can be a lot for smaller dogs, cats to handle because I don`t understand how big I am. I would do well in a home with other large dogs, but what I really want is a human (or more) who is willing to give me the attention and enrichment that I need! I do best with older kids who know how to respect my space and can`t get knocked over by me :)

Story
Stella is a sweet and gentle gal who wants to do all the right things. She is housetrained, knows basic commands, gives amazing hugs and kisses, and is an actual joy to be around. Stella will need work on leash training (she likes to yell hello at everyone along the way) and has been responding well to treats over barking. She currently resides in the Shelter Manager's office where she greets her every morning with the biggest stretch, tail wag and kiss.
