Story
Meet Nile!??At just 2 years old, this 66lb Rottweiler’s heart is as big as his paws. He’s not the kind of dog who’s into toys or rough play—his favorite pastime is being loved on. Whether it’s nudging you with his head or licking your hand, he’s not shy about letting you know when it’s time for some head scratches. He even takes treats from you using his manners- polite and sweet. Nile is calm, affectionate, and loves nothing more than being close to his people. While he can be dog selective—preferring slow introductions and the right canine company—his true focus is on bonding with his humans. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s more into love than fetch, Nile might just be your perfect match. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via FB Messenger or email us at jcasreception@johnsoncounty.in.gov for an application. You can also find one on our website at http://johnsoncountyanimalshelter.com/adopt/. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can set an appointment to meet the pet!

Story
This boys name is Oso, Spanish for bear. 3 years. And thats exactly what he is, a loving bear that plays and grumbles. His favorite activities are walking at the park, playing tug of war, playing fetch, and also jumping! His least favorite activity is getting baths. This boy loves to be outside and explore. We do not know if he does well with dogs or cats but have had no bad experiences. We prefer he goes somewhere with a fence, no kids, and someone who loves rotties. We decided to rehome him because he deals with food aggression and we do not have sufficient space for him to roam and get all of his energy out on a daily basis. I simply do not have enough time in the day to give him what he deserves. I rely on my girlfriend to take care of him when I work storms and overtime but what we provide is not enough. We have been working with a trainer and she has agreed to stay with him through this journey at his new home. Please help us. We love this boy so much and he deserves to be happy.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hey there! I’m Star, I might look familiar. I’m back due to no fault of my own, the grumpy old dog just didn’t care for me and my puppy energy. I love to snuggle, so hopefully you’ll let me sleep in bed with you. My foster family does and it’s my favorite. I love to chew up all my toys. My foster family only gives me deer antlers now. I guess I was making too much of a mess. I love kids and babies, I have always been around them so I don’t know any different. My favorite thing is to run outside with my foster siblings. Other than that I just want a cozy couch to snuggle up on. I am potty trained through the night and my foster family has me trained to ring a bell and it was worked great! I don’t like my crate too much, but when I was a pup I had a broken leg and tail so I had to spend a lot of time in my crate. I just rather be by you! I’m really sweet and I can’t wait for my forever family to adopt meVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 25, 2025, 2:16 pm
