Story
Riley is a beautiful 12 year old sweetheart looking for a calm home where she can spend her days bird/squirrel watching and napping in peace. She is fixed. Up to date on all shots and prevention treatments. She is absolutely free to a good and loving home. Will include all vet records, dog beds, collar and leash, medication & supplements, bowls and auto feeder. DNA test of her mixed breeds available. She weighs around 50# and does shed. She is very low energy. Has never had an accident or been destructive in any way. She would do best as an only dog and with a family with older or no children. Quirks: -she has arthritis in her back legs and is given a once monthly injection (Librela: about $90/mo at current vet) that has made her act half her age again (a savings card will be provided for the medication) - she is afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks

Story
- Loves to be busy and connect with people through play and other activities - Loves squeaky toys and treats; would be fun to train with both! - Knows sit - good girl! - May take time to warm up to new people and places; a calm, quiet home with mature people may be best for her comfort zone (mature home recommended) - Seems to enjoy like-minded dog friends but may take time to warm up to new friends; would be most comfortable with slow, careful introductions to new pals (dog intro recommended) - Must meet any resident dogs before adoption The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 40 Age: 2yrs 6mths 1wks

Story
- Pretty social but also likes to explore on his own here at the shelter; likely will open up more once he's in a loving home environment and has had time to decompress - Knows sit - good boy! - Eager to see the world; will do best with a harness on walking adventures - Young kiddos may overwhelm this fella; he's looking for a teens-and-up home where all residents understand body language and can handle his size and energy - Can be socially awkward with other dogs and tends to be a linebacker-type player; needs to be the only dog in his new home, and will likely do best with slow, careful introductions to new dogs The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email petbehavior@arl-iowa.org. ---- Can take some time to warm up to new people, but once you're friends you're in forever - She is a very big cuddle bug and will happily place herself in your space and demand pets - Loves to play with toys, specifically tennis balls- Recently went on a Dog's Day out and met a family, did well with the younger sister and mother, took some extra time to warm up to the father, and did amazing in the drive through waiting for her pup cup- LOVES back and booty scratches! - May take some time to settle into a new home, would benefit from a more mature home that can help her learn a new routine - Has met some dogs while in our care, she tends to prefer a dog with a similar play style, and will need a dog intro to make sure everyone gets along The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Story
Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters! I am GhostBuster and I have a neat, sad and then happy story to tell you... So hang on for the ride!! But realize my NEXT BEST CHAPTER can include you!! In the sweltering heat I was blessed enough to CHOOSE the Post Office to hang out in. I was there for months, and no one could get me...and they tried but they deliver MAIL, not SAVE DOGS for a living..:) The Post Master knew about a local rescue, and they tried to help me too...then I was hit by a car and injured... AND I found a girlfriend and she was my lucky break, literally. The Police Department was finally able to save us and away we went to the rescue! My sweet girlfriend, Avian, was adopted before me, but I believe this is MY TIME!! Here is what my rescue friends describe me.."GhostBuster is always happy to see you, his eyes shine, tail wags, and his energy boosts whenever he sees his favorite people! He has the subtle markings of a Rottweiler or a Doberman and the temperament of a lab. He had an injured hip when saved but he has had surgery and has had his heartworms treated. During all this time he has started to know what a kind hand is like, some love, and real food! Now he can learn what a real family is :) Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Reyna — this queen is part Rottweiler, part athlete, part professional couch companion, and 100% good girl. Reyna is beautiful, low-shedding, crate trained, potty trained, and walks on a leash like she personally watched every episode of The Dog Whisperer. She loves running, hiking, swimming, fetch, and basically any activity preferred by those mysterious people who voluntarily do cardio when absolutely no one is chasing them. She’s great with kids and medium- to large-sized dogs. However, in true Rottie fashion, Reyna firmly believes squirrels, cats, and other tiny fast-moving creatures are highly suspicious and should be investigated at full speed. Because of this, a home without cats is a must. The squirrels, however, have been warned and remain fair game. After a full day — or at least a good walk and a game of fetch — this gal is more than happy to crash on the couch with her people for cuddles and a full-on Love Island binge session. Athletic, gorgeous… and emotionally available? Honestly, Reyna is setting unrealistic standards for the rest of us. Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
