Story
- Loves to be busy and connect with people through play and other activities - Loves squeaky toys and treats; would be fun to train with both! - Knows sit - good girl! - May take time to warm up to new people and places; a calm, quiet home with mature people may be best for her comfort zone (mature home recommended) - Seems to enjoy like-minded dog friends but may take time to warm up to new friends; would be most comfortable with slow, careful introductions to new pals (dog intro recommended) - Must meet any resident dogs before adoption The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 40 Age: 2yrs 6mths 2wks

- Pretty social but also likes to explore on his own here at the shelter; likely will open up more once he's in a loving home environment and has had time to decompress - Knows sit - good boy! - Eager to see the world; will do best with a harness on walking adventures - Young kiddos may overwhelm this fella; he's looking for a teens-and-up home where all residents understand body language and can handle his size and energy - Can be socially awkward with other dogs and tends to be a linebacker-type player; needs to be the only dog in his new home, and will likely do best with slow, careful introductions to new dogs The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. Story
Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters! I am GhostBuster and I have a neat, sad and then happy story to tell you... So hang on for the ride!! But realize my NEXT BEST CHAPTER can include you!! In the sweltering heat I was blessed enough to CHOOSE the Post Office to hang out in. I was there for months, and no one could get me...and they tried but they deliver MAIL, not SAVE DOGS for a living..:) The Post Master knew about a local rescue, and they tried to help me too...then I was hit by a car and injured... AND I found a girlfriend and she was my lucky break, literally. The Police Department was finally able to save us and away we went to the rescue! My sweet girlfriend, Avian, was adopted before me, but I believe this is MY TIME!! Here is what my rescue friends describe me.."GhostBuster is always happy to see you, his eyes shine, tail wags, and his energy boosts whenever he sees his favorite people! He has the subtle markings of a Rottweiler or a Doberman and the temperament of a lab. He had an injured hip when saved but he has had surgery and has had his heartworms treated. During all this time he has started to know what a kind hand is like, some love, and real food! Now he can learn what a real family is :) Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Reyna — this queen is part Rottweiler, part athlete, part professional couch companion, and 100% good girl. Reyna is beautiful, low-shedding, crate trained, potty trained, and walks on a leash like she personally watched every episode of The Dog Whisperer. She loves running, hiking, swimming, fetch, and basically any activity preferred by those mysterious people who voluntarily do cardio when absolutely no one is chasing them. She’s great with kids and medium- to large-sized dogs. However, in true Rottie fashion, Reyna firmly believes squirrels, cats, and other tiny fast-moving creatures are highly suspicious and should be investigated at full speed. Because of this, a home without cats is a must. The squirrels, however, have been warned and remain fair game. After a full day — or at least a good walk and a game of fetch — this gal is more than happy to crash on the couch with her people for cuddles and a full-on Love Island binge session. Athletic, gorgeous… and emotionally available? Honestly, Reyna is setting unrealistic standards for the rest of us. Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

The classic debate- left Twix versus right Twix... Either way, it'll be delicious!! Just like a Twix bar, I am super sweet, a little salty, and really ooey gooey. I was found when I was 10 months old and brought to God’s Dogs Rescue. I was adopted for about a year but have, otherwise, spent my life in the rescue system. I'm now entering my golden years and have been overlooked for long enough! I have lived with many dogs in the past but, at my age, I prefer those that are lower energy and will live and let live. I would also be fine as the only dog. I am a generally lazy guy but I still have a stubborn streak and will assert myself if needed. I'm not a fan of smaller animals (cats, birds, etc.) unless we are talking about favorite snacks. In my foster home, I am an easy-going guy and the BIGGEST LOVER. I get so excited, wiggly, and bouncy with my humans. They give the best back scratches, I give the best hair tumbleweeds. I am also amazing on leash so walks are a breeze. My favorite way to get around though, is a ride in the car. I love nothing more than cruising around the neighborhood with the wind in my ears. I am so ready for my new AND FINAL home! Choose me and I will melt your heart like a Twix bar in the Texas sun. Don't hesitate, ADOPT ME!! Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- Friendly, kind and cuddly; happy to lay his head on your shoulder or lap for pets and enjoys giving hugs - Loves playing catch, being in the kitchen while his family is cooking, sleeping on the couch and keeping his yard squirrel-free - Seems to love everyone he meets and is always wagging his tail; makes friends easily, although he may be bouncy and vocal when new people come into his home - Loves chasing his toys, then carrying them around and showing them to you! - Needs some exercise each day to wear him out, but then he can be a couch potato - Knows sit and kennel - good boy! - Was crate-trained and mostly potty trained in his previous home and did not have accidents unless he was left over a long period of time (5+ hours) or it was raining outside (he's not a fan of getting wet); just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new schedule - Not a fan of loud noises, such as fireworks and thunder - Lived with young children in his previous home and was very sweet with the toddler - A social butterfly with other dogs and will likely do well with different dog personalities- Has been known to chase cats, so he may do best in a home without them - May have allergies (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!!
