Story
Brandy/Kira is an almost 5 year old boxer maybe bulldog mix. She weighs 55 lbs and loves to cuddle her people. She can be selective about her dog friends and tends to chase cats, so would require a meet with any animals in the home. She adores children - can be a little jumpy with her love but would like a kiddo to love on. Her adoption fee is $250 - if interested in meeting her please apply at www.foreverhomedogs.org!All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Story
Bijou is a sweet 6 year old 57 lb boxer/bulldog mix girl who loves her people (kids included) when she's given some time to adjust. She's fully house/crate trained. She would prefer to be the only dog in the home and hasn’t been around cats. She knows sit and shake and giving hugs is one of her favorite things when she's comfortable with someone! She does great on leash and loves to be outside, but she’s also happy to chill on the couch. If interested in meeting sweet Bijou, please put an application in at www.foreverhomedogs.org!All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Story
- Loves people and companionship - Enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style - Does well on a leash - May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro recommended) - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended) - Tends to be an introvert around other dogs and may prefer one-on-one interactions or smaller groups of dog friends; may not be comfortable at dog parks or at large, dog-friendly events (dog intro recommended) - The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: White Weight: 45.5 Age: 1yrs 7mths 3wks

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
My name is Shadow and I am a gray & white pit bull. I am a neutered male and I am 2 years old. They were my family for 2 years. I am used to staying inside during the day and inside during the night. I am potty trained and I am a medium energy dog. The shelter staff is not sure if I am used to being crated during the day, but I do well being in my kennel at the shelter. I do pull a little on the leash, but it`s more excitement than that I`ll drag you down the street. I can be good with men, women, and children. I can be good with other dogs and I can be good with cats. I have special housing needs within the City of Ames - shelter staff would be happy to go over these requirements with you.All dogs are tested for heartworms and given flea preventatives. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Dogs are vaccinated against distemper, rabies, and bordetella, spayed/neutered before adoption, and have a microchip. Adoption fees include the initial automated registration of the microchip at the time of adoption.
