Story
Hi, my name is Niki and I am from Missouri! Niki is calm, easy going, and loving. He appreciates lots of pets, hugs, kisses, and kind voices talking to him. He is a protective guardian as well. An intelligent, strong, but gentle companion. I have never met a dog who receives a treat out of my hand as gently as Niki does. He is cautious when he is first meeting new people, but warms up quickly. Niki would enjoy being the only dog in the home as he thrives on attention and love from his person/people. However, he seems to do well with dogs too. If Niki had his way, he would cuddle up and sleep next to me in the bed at night. However, he is sleeping on a dog cushion at the foot of the bed and/or on the sofa at this time. Niki does not need to be crated/kenneled in the home as he is well behaved. From the foster: We are currently taking two short walks per day in an effort to lose a few pounds, but he wouldn't mind three short walks if that was a possibility. He loves sniffing and exploring the vegetation on our walks. Walks are definitely a highlight of his day. One thing to watch out for would be rabbits. If he sees a rabbit, he will pull and want to chase it, though he does seem receptive to my leading. A little bit of leash training would be beneficial.
