Ben (approximately 78 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from a foster home in Texas. When you're a big beefsteak of a dog and your name is Ben, it is inevitable that you will be called Big Ben. This guy here is also known as Gentle Ben, because he is the definition of sweet, loyal, & loving. Ben is happiest when he's close to his people and will gladly be your shadow, always ready to keep you company whether you're relaxing at home or hanging out in the yard. Ben has a wonderfully balanced personality. He's calm, relaxed, and well-mannered in the home, but he still enjoys play time & stretching his legs. He would absolutely love a home with a big yard where he can safely run & explore! This smart boy is house trained and can be trusted to stay out of a crate when left alone. He already knows basic commands like "sit" and "down" and he is eager to keep learning - especially if treats and praise are involved! Ben gets along great with other dogs, both big & small. He does tend to chase cats, so unless you're willing to work on training & introductions, he wouldn't be a great match for a home with felines. But he IS a great match for anyone looking for a large & affectionate fellow who will love you endlessly and be your best friend...so come meet Ben today!If you'd like to meet Ben and all of his friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). My name is  Reece  and my foster family thinks I am about 2 years old and sweet as can be. I am loyal to my people and love to snuggle.  My obedience is top notch. In addition to basic commands I am kennel trained, can place on my bed when asked and wait to get up when released. The shelter I came from in MD called me “Hopper” cause I love to bounce around and be silly outside.  I would do best in a home without small children or other dominant female dogs. I have not been cat tested but I currently live with free range chickens and have no interest in bothering them. He recently enjoyed a 30&#226&#128&#145minute bath and made it through the whole thing without a single complaint… unless you count the slobbery kisses he insisted on giving in return. He’s affectionate, steady, and an all&#226&#128&#145around good boy who just wants to be by your side. What Goliath Needs Goliath is a Rottweiler through and through — loyal, intelligent, powerful, and eager to bond deeply with his person. Because of this, he will need a highly experienced Rottweiler owner who understands the breed, their body language, and their training needs. No children.  Dog social. Cats unknown.
