Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  COURTESY POST! We want to tell you about Lennox. This handsome guy arrived in CT, but that is not where his story begins. Lennox came to a Georgia shelter as a stray, and he was very sick. Lennox had an upper respiratory tract infection. He looked down in the dumps, just miserable. The staff at the Vet clinic in Georgia where he was placed took great care of him. Now that he is healthy, this beautiful boy is in CT looking for a CT Foster or CT RI NH VT or MA Adopter to help write the rest of his story. Lennox is a big ole’ goofball of a dog, a big puppy. Lennox is listed as a Mastiff of some sort, we think he is a Rottweiler mix, 3 yrs old and a good 72lbs. He is a giant love bug…he will come in for a hug and paw you while you are driving. Lennox will try to get in the front seat and kiss you. All of this is very endearing, but Lennox needs to learn manners. He is working with a trainer now. Lennox may be best as an only dog, but that may be because he is a lot of dog. We would need to do a meeting with another dog if you were interested. We are going to say “absolutely” no cats. Lennox is big and gorgeous, lovable and active, sweet, goofy and incredibly entertaining. When I look at him, I think of Clifford the Big Red Dog ?. If you have large breed experience, or Mastiff experience reach out to us. You can submit an application and we will call you for an interview. If approved, we can set up a visit! I promise you the food bill will be smaller than Clifford’s. That is one incentive. Another incentive is that you would be making a home for a great dog and helping a Rescue save others. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Samson is literally man's best friend.   He's a very lovable and loyal dog who is a puppy at heart and he is eager to please.   As a bonus, he has obedience training under his belt!! Samson is definitely a ladies' man and loves spending time with the three female dogs in his house, including small dogs, but does not do well with male dogs. He will need to go to an experienced handler.  He is a dog of prey and may do well in search and rescue or tracking. He does have some food aggression issues and is protective of his food and some treats.  Please visit our web site at 4theloveofdog.org for all adoption information Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2024, 10:39 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Sevi!  Hi lovely hoomans! My name is Sevi, and I'm a delightful 3-year-old gal on a mission to find my forever family. I am here to share with you my recent life story and why I might just be the perfect addition to your pack. I was discovered roaming the bustling streets of Atlanta, a city filled with sights and sounds that both intrigued and bewildered me. But fear not, for my tale took a turn for the better when I was picked up with my gal pal, Anari, where I eventually made it to my foster home. From that moment on, my life has been filled with love, laughter, and pets! Now, let me share a little secret with you—I've got a thing for bones.  I’m not picky about size or shape and I haven’t met one that I haven’t liked! Speaking of things I like, I really like food! Food is a great motivator, which means I'm always eager to learn new tricks and commands, especially if there's a yummy reward involved. But perhaps my favorite thing in the whole wide world is my doggy foster brother. We're like two peas in a pod, I’m his mini me.  I love following him around outside and giving him kisses.  He's taught me so much about being a good doggy companion, and I'm forever grateful for his friendship.  We even both have some missing teeth!   Now, let's talk about my quirks—I can be highly excitable at times, especially when my foster family first gets home, but I quickly settle down and become the picture of calm serenity. I've also been working diligently on my house manners and have learned the routine of my foster home with lightning speed. So, if you're in search of a spirited yet sweet canine companion who's ready to fill your days with love, laughter, and lots of chewed-up bones, look no further than me, Sevi! Let's embark together on this paw-some journey called life! Sevi is dog social but should not live with cats. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello there! My name is Anari, and I'm a lovely 2-year-old lady with a heart as big as the Georgia sky. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and how I ended up looking for my forever home.  My foster momma calls me a Pocket Rott, I guess because I’m small enough to fit in your pocket!   I was discovered wandering the streets of Atlanta, with my pal, Sevi. But fate had something wonderful in store for us because I was scooped up and brought into a shelter, which eventually got me to my foster family. Despite my rough start, I'm a resilient pup with a spirit that shines bright. I might be small, but I've got a huge appetite for life and all the tasty treats it has to offer! Yep, you guessed it—I'm quite food-driven and eager to learn, especially if there's a delicious reward involved. Now, let's talk about my favorite things: snuggling and being close to you! Oh, there's nothing that makes my butt wiggle faster than curling up beside you, feeling your warmth, and knowing that I'm loved. I'm a total cuddle bug, and I'm not shy about showing my affection.  I also love romping around the yard with a ball or toy! I will bring it back and drop it at your feet, eagerly awaiting you to throw it for me again! Sure, I might need a little help with my house manners—I mean, who doesn't have a few things to learn, right? But I promise to put in the effort because making you happy is what I'm all about. With a patient and understanding family by my side, I know I can become the best doggy companion anyone could ask for. I live with my doggy foster brother, who I really like and my foster sister, Sevi, who I came into the shelter with.  We have had some tussles lately, so my foster momma thinks I wouldn't mind being  your only girl dog.  I can’t help that I’m a strong, independent female.  I have a teenage hooman foster sister who I love so much!  I can get a little excited and jumpy sometimes, so older kids would be best for me.  I don't live with cats now, but I did meet them before I left GA, and I was ok with them (see my video!)  So, if you're looking for a sweet and snuggly sidekick who's ready to fill your days with love and laughter, look no further than me, Anari! Let's embark on this journey together and create paw-some memories that'll last a lifetime. Come meet me, and let's see if we're a match made in doggy heaven! eastern PA locationVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2024, 10:39 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. POPPERS was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 30 October 2023. POPPERS is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of January 2023 and on has an estimated weight of 33 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue      YouTube channel      and      photo albums on our Facebook page      to see a LOT of pictures and videos. POPPERS is an absolute sweetheart, brimming with affection and love with the sweetest, gentle "old soul" type personality. He can come across like a couch potato but he loves to run and wrestle with his friends. When he was in the kennels he did gain some weight, which now he is more active he is losing them - but it is important for his family to be aware to keep him active to keep those dangerous pounds off. POPPERS is a top favourite with everyone he meets. He is a hard chewer of toys and anything other than tough chewing toys he will destroy - red kongs are like scooby snacks to him lol He has been around adults of all ages, shapes and sizes, small children and people with special needs and was gentle and loving.  He is responsive and is happy to show anyone he meets lots of love. He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. POPPERS is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $250. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats.
