Story
Meet Mirage, a beautiful and sweet 7 year old Rottweiler mix with a history that's as compelling as her personality. After being neglected and surrendered to a southern shelter as a cruelty case, she was rescued and transported to NJ in hopes of finding a loving family. Mirage is looking for a quiet home away from the hustle and bustle of city life, as she thrives in tranquil environments. Mirage may be lowkey, but don’t let her calm demeanor fool you—she's a toy enthusiast who can often be found amusing herself with her favorite playthings. In fact, she’s also quite the entertainer with them- give her a squeaky toy and she’ll show you her funny side as she keeps herself (and you) entertained! She's looking for patient adopters who will give her the time she needs to adjust to her new surroundings and let her wonderful personality shine through. Once she feels safe, Mirage is all about playtime, exploring on car rides, and enjoying pets. She is selective with her dog friends and requires a careful introduction to other pups. Mirage's ideal home would be cat-free and without young children, though older and respectful teenagers would be just fine.  If you're ready to provide the quiet, loving home Mirage deserves, please fill out an application on www.ehrdogs.org! Story
From Louis "I love car rides, hikes, trips to Home Depot (I love to say hello to everyone inside), strolling downtown and hanging around the house." I love my foster family - two small dogs and three cats! I am lovely on a leash and the perfect gentleman in the house. I am also crate trained and I love to communicate with my foster family. I am a senior dog about 7-8 years old. I do have a minor medical condition due to being neutered late in life and I arrived with an untreated bladder infection (which now has been taken care of). I wear a belly band because of the bladder condition and I am very good about it. My foster mother says I always look handsome. I love baths and having my ears and feet cleaned - I love being touched. Would you take me home? I just want a lap and a couch. Not sure? You may foster me to see how wonderful I am. I can go back to my foster home if things don't work out (but I think you will really love me!)" Most importantly: You will make room so we can take in another lovely dog like me and give him a chance too! for more information: call Randolph Animal Shelter at 973-543-9333 or e-mail: Claudine@RandolphRegionalAnimalShelter.org www.RandolphRegionalAnimalShelter.org click on "donate"

Story
Winston’s life before coming to the shelter was one of heartbreak and isolation. He spent most of his early years locked away in a crate, denied the chance to run, play, or simply be a dog. His world was small and lonely — until the day his owner tied him to a guardrail and walked away, leaving him frightened, filthy, and severely underweight.Since arriving at the shelter, Winston has experienced more freedom than he ever knew existed. For the first time, he’s learning what it means to be cared for, to feel grass under his paws, and to receive love without strings attached. Though he's come a long way, Winston is still healing. He’s apprehensive of unfamiliar situations and especially wary of men — a sign of the trauma he’s endured. But with time, patience, and kindness, he can and does learn to trust.Winston is incredibly intelligent and highly food-motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding. He gets along well with cats and most other dogs, and he thrives in calm environments where he can feel safe and secure. After spending over a year at the shelter, Winston is ready to find his forever home — one with someone who understands that trust takes time and healing isn’t always linear. But for those willing to give him that chance, Winston has so much love to give in return.Could you be the one to show Winston what a real home feels like?
