Story
Introducing Bruce. At 5 years old, this handsome Rottweiler mix has all the qualities that make for an exceptional companion. He's affectionate, easy going, and genuinely enjoys being with his people. Whether it's a leisurely walk, a car ride, or simply hanging out together, Bruce is happiest when he's sharing life with someone. And more exciting recent news about what sets Bruce apart: He knows a lot of 'tricks'! He spins! He speaks! He offers one paw and then the other when asked! Someone spent the time to train this beautiful dog, and now you can take it from here. Recently, Bruce got to spend the day away from the shelter on an outing with two of our staff members. He hopped right into the car, rode beautifully, greeted everyone he met with his friendly personality, and even enjoyed an ice cream treat. Everywhere he went, Bruce proved what we've known all along -- he's an absolute gentleman. In addition, Bruce has been spending some time (including overnights) with a foster couple. Here is their report of Bruce’s behavior with them:‘Bruce is totally house trained, walks great on a leash, very relaxed in the house. Totally pays attention to his human, will lick your face endlessly, I see no aggressive tendencies at all — definitely treated very well by his previous owner(s). A real sweet guy.’His volunteer walkers report that he's slow and easy on the leash and nonreactive as he strolls through the surrounding neighborhoods.Bruce also gets along well with other dogs and would love a family that will include him in everyday adventures, whether that's a trip for ice cream, a walk around the neighborhood, or a relaxing afternoon at home. He's the kind of dog who makes life a little brighter just by being part of it. Now he just needs someone to give him the chance. You can contact HumaneCNY at (315) 457-8762 or info@humanecny.org to set up a meet and greet with Bruce; or stop in Monday through Saturday 12 through 4:30; or you can begin the adoption process right now by filling out an application on our website, www.humanecny.org.Contact HumaneCNY if interested in this animal. You can fill out application to adopt at the shelter.

Story
Mr. Vader is an 8-month-old rottie we’ve had since he was 6 weeks old. He is an incredibly sweet, well-behaved companion who loves to play and cuddle. He is wonderful with children, especially younger ones, and is very friendly with new people. He is not territorial, is food trained, and knows a wide variety of tricks. He deserves a home where he can get the time, attention, and love he thrives on. Unfortunately, with my work schedule and a busy household with two children under five and another on the way, we can’t give him the time he needs. We are hoping to find him a family who will truly make him part of their lives and treat him like the main character he is.

Story
Are you craving a sweet treat that isn’t so small? Then you need to come by and get to know Teddy Graham (71 lbs), our big and handsome pup! Just shy of two years old, Teddy Graham came to us initially as a stray, but overtime has opened up and shown us just how wonderful he can be. He’s a huge fan of chasing sturdy KONG balls around the yard and splashing into our newly donated dog pool on the patio. He’s known to savor a leisurely stroll out and about with his friends, pausing to enjoy a good hearty sniff around before heading in for a treat and some cool water.Teddy Graham is looking for a home where he can be your one and only, and he’s looking for friends who are willing to let him drive the pace of getting to know each other before he can relax and show you his favorite purple rolyball. Come over to our adoption center during our open hours Wednesday-Sundays: 12pm-4:30pm (Thursdays 6:30 PM) and give yourself a sweet time with Teddy G! Story
Bo (63 lbs) knows how to chase a ball, just like the pros! He’s got speed and agility to match that enthusiasm, but sometimes that enthusiasm can spill over onto things that he considers ‘his’, so he’s looking for a home where his family can help him to see that his stuff is safe, we promise!Because his previous owners recognized that they didn’t have the time that Bo deserves, this handsome dude is just patiently wearing out our throwing arms here in the meanwhile. Ideally, his new home would also include older kids who are patient and respectful of his boundaries, and ready to throw that stick or ball until the cows come home! He`s gotten along well with other animals in the home, but we`d still like to set up separate introductions between any resident dogs and him; he likes to get to know you before he`s feeling confident enough to show you his full playful side.Come in to say hello during our open hours Wed - Sundays, 12pm - 4:30pm (extended hours until 6:30pm Thursdays), or you can also reach our adoptions team:by email: adoptions@spcaonline.comby phone (during open hours): 607-257-1822 x221

Story
Mickey is 10 1/2 yrs old. I found him wandering the streets of Kentucky. He’s been in my life for 9 1/2 years now. He is very loving and goofy, and extremely loyal. He can be quite protective of people and his food at some times. Especially if it’s a big bone! I’m hoping to find a home that will show him love and that has a big yard for him to run around and continue to not act his age. Ideally a farm would be the best place for this big goof ball. The only reason we have to give him up is because we are expecting a baby and the place that we moved to doesn’t allow dogs :( Hoping that we can find a place for him soon
