(DOB 03/12/2024) Raja is heartworm positive, but do not let this stop you from adopting him. He is available for adoption within a 1-hour radius of Wake Forest, NC so he can receive his treatment, which the rescue will cover the expenses for when it is time. And don't worry, our rescue will guide you through the process. Raja absolutely loves other dogs and truly thrives with canine companionship. He enjoys cuddling up with his dog friends, walking beside them, and being part of the pack. Because he's so excited to meet new dogs, slow introductions help set him up for success, but once everyone settles in, he's a wonderful companion. While he could be an only dog, we'd love to see him in a home with another friendly pup to snuggle and play with. Raja is a sweet, gentle boy with a playful side that loves being with his people including car rides. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he feels comfortable, his loving personality shines through.  He's house-trained, crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and loves his daily walks. Raja has not meet cats yet. He has seen squirrels on his walks but ignores them; chickens on the other hand, he's interested in. He does enjoy meeting new friends along the way. A securely fenced yard would be a bonus for playtime, but it's not a requirement. Raja would do best with someone home for a good part of the day who can help continue building his confidence and include him in everyday life. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and a love for both people and dogs, Raja may be the perfect addition to your family. As part of Raja’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Leigh is a sweet, gentle soul who is quietly discovering just how wonderful life can be. While new environments can make her a little shy at first, she's already proving to be a quick learner. With a little patience, encouragement, and a handful of treats, her confidence grows a little more every day. Once Leigh feels comfortable, her affectionate side shines through. She loves spending time with her people and enjoys soaking up attention from those she trusts. Leigh gets along well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to help show her the ropes. She has not yet been tested with cats. She's currently working on house training, crate training, and leash walking, and because she's food motivated, she's eager to learn and responds well to positive reinforcement. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Abby is a 4-year-old, 65-lb Rottweiler with a loving and confident personality. She’s friendly and adores attention, especially belly rubs, and thrives when she has time to spend with her people. Abby has a moderate energy level—she loves carrying her Jolly Ball, chewing on Kongs, and enjoys daily walks. She can pull on leash at first but settles with proper exercise or longer walks. Abby is housebroken, crate trained, and mat/place trained, and is comfortable being alone for 4–5 hours during the day. She also does very well on long trips and during hotel stays, making her a great travel companion. While she is dog selective and takes time to warm up to new canine friends (she prefers low-energy dogs), she can do well in a home with a patient introduction process—or as the only dog. She hasn’t been around cats and does best with older children. Abby’s ideal home includes a fenced yard for safe play and enrichment, and an experienced adopter who will spend quality time training, playing nose work games, or just relaxing together. She’s confident, loves attention, and would make a devoted lap dog for the right person. Poppy is a gentle and affectionate 3 hear old. Although a little shy at first, she is a very friendly dog who enjoys being around people and is very well-behaved. Poppy loves to spend her days lounging on the couch and receiving belly rubs, but she also likes to play and have fun. She would make a great addition to a family and would be a wonderful companion. Poppy gets along well with other dogs. Her shelter foster said she loved her kids but we were not told what age the kids are. Poppy weighed 64 pounds at her vet visit a month ago and needed to gain a few pounds. She is heartworm negative, current on vaccines and spayed.
