Story
Meet Praline! If you're looking for a puppy who is equal parts playful, cuddly, and easygoing, Praline might just be your perfect match. Praline loves everyone she meets. She adores kids, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and is always ready for playtime. After she's burned off some puppy energy, she's just as happy curling up for cuddles or quietly entertaining herself when no one is around. She has a sweet, adaptable personality that makes her a joy to have around. Praline does have one unique quirk, but thankfully, it is very easy to manage. After noticing that she was regurgitating her food, we completed extensive veterinary testing to determine the cause. The good news is that no major abnormalities or underlying diseases were found. The specialists believe she likely has an esophageal motility issue, which means food moves through her esophagus a little differently than normal. It does not affect her energy, personality, growth, or quality of life. She is otherwise a healthy puppy, and there is no reason to expect the issue to worsen over time. It may improve as she grows, or it may remain the same. Managing her meals is simple. We grind her puppy kibble into a powder and keep it in a container. At mealtime, we mix it with water to create an oatmeal-like consistency, and she happily eats every bite and keeps it down. She can also enjoy certain treats that she tolerates well. Praline is very food motivated, which makes her highly trainable. She runs, plays, cuddles, explores, and lives life just like any other puppy. She simply needs her meals prepared a little differently. Praline is an amazing puppy with so much love to give. For someone willing to spend an extra minute preparing her meals, she will be an affectionate, playful, and incredibly rewarding companion. pipsrescue.org/adopt ##2735822##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Griffin (AKA "Finn") Age: 8 Months | Breed: Rottweiler | Gender: Male Health: Up-to-date on all age-appropriate vetting and heartworm negative! His Story Griffin’s journey started in a rough place. Found abandoned in a garage in Charlotte, it took hours for shelter staff to safely rescue him. For a young, under-socialized pup, the loud shelter environment was terrifying. Thankfully, his foster family stepped in to "spring" him from the shelter and give him the safe space he so desperately needed. After just two days of quiet decompression, Finn decided he was ready for love—and he has been working hard to be the best boy ever since. The Good Stuff Despite a rocky start, Griffin is making incredible strides every single day. Here is what his foster family loves about him: A Devoted Companion: Finn bonds incredibly fast. He doesn't just want a person; he needs a person to call his own. Great Listener & Quiet: He makes incredible eye contact when he is being praised. He is also a very quiet boy—his foster has only heard him bark once! Dog Friendly: While he can be socially awkward, he has successfully made three canine friends in his foster home! He just needs structured, properly managed meet-and-greets to ensure everything goes smoothly. Toy & Treat Lover: While he isn't super food-motivated, he absolutely loves toys. (And his absolute favorite treat? Whipped cream!) Spa Day Fan: Believe it or not, this big boy loves baths! House Manners & Training Successes Finn is proving to be a quick learner and is settling beautifully into home life: Crate Trained: Finn now officially loves his crate and views it as his safe space. He has been completely accident-free in his crate for several days! House Training: He has just about mastered house training! As long as you keep up a consistent schedule, he is golden. He also doesn't lift his leg or mark inside. Building Confidence: He is still a bit insecure. Loud noises and fast movements can startle him, and if he thinks he is in trouble, his instinct is to run and hide. He needs a calm, force-free environment where he can continue to learn that he is safe. Boundaries are Key: Because he bonds so quickly, Finn has the potential to become possessive of his chosen human. His adopter will need to understand how to set healthy boundaries to prevent resource-guarding behaviors. The Ideal Home Griffin is a diamond in the rough who is going to make a fiercely loyal companion for the right person. His perfect match looks like: An experienced dog owner who understands working breeds and insecure behaviors. A slow, patient, and calm household without a lot of chaotic noise or foot traffic. People over Property: Finn is not a dog you can leave outside in a yard or a run; being left alone outside causes him to panic. Having acres of land doesn't matter to this boy—he wants to be inside, right next to his human. Foster Mom’s Note: "Finn really just wants a person to love. Acres of land don't mean anything to him—he needs a connection, not just a yard. With a patient handler who can guide his insecurity, he is going to be an absolutely incredible, devoted partner." Story
(DOB 03/12/2024) Raja is heartworm positive, but do not let this stop you from adopting him. He is available for adoption within a 1-hour radius of Wake Forest, NC so he can receive his treatment, which the rescue will cover the expenses for when it is time. And don't worry, our rescue will guide you through the process. Raja absolutely loves other dogs and truly thrives with canine companionship. He enjoys cuddling up with his dog friends, walking beside them, and being part of the pack. Because he's so excited to meet new dogs, slow introductions help set him up for success, but once everyone settles in, he's a wonderful companion. While he could be an only dog, we'd love to see him in a home with another friendly pup to snuggle and play with. Raja is a sweet, gentle boy with a playful side that loves being with his people including car rides. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he feels comfortable, his loving personality shines through.  He's house-trained, crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and loves his daily walks. Raja has not meet cats yet. He has seen squirrels on his walks but ignores them; chickens on the other hand, he's interested in. He does enjoy meeting new friends along the way. A securely fenced yard would be a bonus for playtime, but it's not a requirement. Raja would do best with someone home for a good part of the day who can help continue building his confidence and include him in everyday life. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and a love for both people and dogs, Raja may be the perfect addition to your family. As part of Raja’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet pup, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Raja, you can complete an application online for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2716641##
