Story
Xena’s story began as an unclaimed stray, but you’d never guess it from the love she carries in her heart. This sweet girl greets the world with a gentle spirit, soft eyes, and a wagging tail that seems to say, “I’m so happy to meet you.” Friendly with both people and other dogs, Xena has a naturally submissive personality and approaches new friends with kindness and respect. While she’s incredibly loving, Xena is still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. She would thrive in a calm home environment where she can take things at her own pace—ideally a house rather than an apartment, where she can enjoy quiet space and stability. Her future family will play an important role in helping her grow her confidence with patience, encouragement, and plenty of reassurance. Xena may especially enjoy living with another friendly, confident dog who can help show her the ropes and demonstrate that new experiences can be fun. She’s eager to please and clearly wants to do the right thing, which makes her a wonderful candidate for obedience classes. Training together will not only help build her confidence, but also create a beautiful bond between Xena and her new family. Because she seems sensitive to harsh corrections, Xena responds best to gentle guidance and positive reinforcement. A kind, patient approach will help her blossom into the confident dog she’s meant to be. Despite her uncertain start, Xena remains incredibly affectionate and full of love. Once she trusts you, she’ll happily shower you with loyalty, companionship, and sweet moments that make every day brighter. Xena is ready for a second chance—one filled with kindness, patience, and a family who will help her shine. In return, she promises a lifetime of love. Could Xena be the gentle heart your home has been waiting for? Her adopters must be willing to return her for this procedure, which is included in the adoption fee. Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families. *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

Story
Meet Raptor, a sweet and affectionate boy who came to us after his family could no longer care for him. When Raptor arrived, he was struggling with severe skin and ear infections. After initial treatment with topical and oral medications, we saw some improvement. However, the relief was temporary, so we decided to make a dietary change to better manage his dermatologic conditions. Since then, Raptor has thrived! His skin and ears have cleared up completely, and he no longer needs topical or oral medication. He still enjoys weekly medicated baths, and his future family will be able to continue this routine as Raptor absolutely loves bath time! Raptor is a happy, energetic boy who enjoys going for walks and spending time with his people. He’s looking for a family that can keep up with his energy and offer him the love and attention he deserves. If you’re looking for a big, sweet guy to join your family, Raptor just might be the perfect match for you!

Story
Choi is one strong guy! Most of the time he is tough and determined, but once he accepts you into his circle he is a real cuddle bear. He is so very loyal. Choi enjoys spending his days doing lots of tricks for treats, playing ball, and getting all the pets he can. Sometimes he'll even sit on your lap! When we first rescued Choi he had no leash manners or training. His reactivity and protective behaviour was very intense. Throughout the months of working with him we have seen a huge change in Choi. He is extremely food motivated and enjoys structure. He would benefit from someone who is active, has experience with dogs of his demeanor, and will have the time to continue his training long term. Choi would do best in an adult only home with no other pets, in a quiet environment. He can still be reactive towards dogs, vehicles, and strangers at times. Choi could go to a home with teens depending on the family's experience as a whole.
