Meet Fani – A Beautiful Soul Ready for Her Safe Place Fani is a quiet, gentle girl who’s been through more than her fair share—but you’d never know it by the way she looks at you with those soft, trusting eyes. She may be shy at first, but underneath that cautious exterior is a dog just waiting to feel safe, loved, and understood. Fani is the kind of dog who will thrive in a calm, patient home where she can take her time settling in. She’s not the dog who will bound into your arms on day one—but give her space, kindness, and a steady routine, and she’ll blossom into your most loyal companion. Once she trusts you, her affectionate side starts to shine, and it’s truly special. She does well with calm, respectful male dogs but can feel overwhelmed around pushy or high-energy dogs, especially females. With the right match and slow introductions, she could enjoy the company of another dog who respects her space. She also wouldn’t mind being your one and only—she just wants to feel safe. Fani is crate-trained and has wonderful indoor manners. She enjoys peaceful walks, a cozy bed, and your quiet companionship. No chaos, no pressure—just the chance to be a dog in a home where she’s accepted exactly as she is. If you believe in second chances and have room in your heart for a dog who needs a little extra grace, Fani just might be the one. The reward of seeing her trust and love again? All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention (age appropriate). If you would like to meet this dog, you must have an approved application on file and be willing to travel to the Boardman/Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio area for a meet and greet. Applications will be reviewed/approved and each dog will be placed in the home that can best meet their individual need. A successful adoption is our goal. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption of any dog. We require you call your established veterinarian asap to schedule a wellness visit. Boz a very handsome 2 year old, 45 lb, male Rottweiler mix was surrendered to the rescue after living outside in a box for shelter. At some point Boz did live in the home with other big dogs and reportedly did well. He has been friendly & cooperative with the volunteers at the rescue and loves running in the big play yard. Boz is house trained and is now current on vaccines and neutered. Apollo, a 60 lb., 16 month-old, Rottweiler (?) mix, is ready to romp his way into your heart. If you prefer dogs or puppies in size XL, who take up the whole couch during a football game--the kind of happy-go-lucky, rough and tumble dog whose ears flap like small wings chasing a ball, then perhaps you should schedule a time to meet Apollo. Apollo is “air tight” housetrained, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. Apollo came to us as a stray so there are some things we don’t know about his history. Apollo has never shown an ounce of aggression towards other dogs. For lack of training, he does play a little rough but he’s so sweet he will drop a ball from his mouth and tap it through the fence so that a dog on the other side can play with it. (Really.) Apollo needs a home without small children and would love a large, fenced yard for some safe, vigorous daily exercise. He needs a strong arm to walk him on leash, but it’s so easy to imagine Apollo bushwacking a trail with his person or people, or making a big splash in a local river. He’s kind of like a dog version of Indiana Jones. His best friend is Haven, a 50 lb., female Hound mix, who loves racing around the yard with him. If you’re looking for an action and adventure hero disguised as a Big Puppy, Apollo would love to meet you.
