**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Reggie. I'm about 3 years old and I weigh about 75 lbs. My friend Mr. Big and I were dropped off here at the pound after hours, so nobody really knows our back story. We've both been super sweet, good boys since making our way in to the pound. I have been good around the other dogs I've met since coming into the pound. I have not been around cats yet, but a cat test can be done if you need to know if I am okay around cats or not. I seem to have been a house dog before making my way into the pound. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Bullet. I'm about 8 years old and I weigh about 85 lbs. I was surrendered to the pound due to unforeseen circumstances wherein my owner and I found ourselves homeless. When I came in, I had some fleas and some flea allergy dermatitis on my hind end which is healing up nicely. I was also in terrible need of a dental as I had many fractured teeth at the gumline with roots exposed. I went to get my dental on 9/11, so my mouth will feel so much better once it heals from extractions. I have been the bestest boy since my arrival here at the pound. I was loved very much throughout my life and that shines through with my sweet, gentle personality. I appear to be completely housebroken. I am a very good boy when I am in my kennel and when I am in the office. I've done great around all of the other dogs that I have met here at the pound. Sometimes, they can annoy me and I will tell them so, but it isn't out of aggression. I put them in their place, then mind my business. I peacefully mingle and coexist well with other dogs of all sizes and the cats when I am in the office. I know I'm not a spring chicken, but I would would love to find a new family to live out my remaining years with. If you're looking for a good dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Stevie. I'm about 2 years old and I weigh about 85 lbs. I was surrendered to the pound after my former owner dumped me off on her elderly mother. I am a good boy, but I was just way too much for her to handle with my size and activity level. When I first arrived at the pound, I was very scared and it took me about a week before I really started to come out of my shell and show any of my personality. Now that I have had some time to settle in, get comfortable with the environment here and I know the people, I am a really good boy. I am in the office quite a bit. I get along great with other dogs of all sizes and I do great with the cats too. I am extremely clean in my kennel and I appear to be completely housebroken. I know some basic commands and tricks. I do know sit, lay down, shake hands and I know how to speak. I am a very sweet, affectionate boy with my people. I am also very playful. I LOVE playing fetch, although I can be more of a 'no take, only throw' player at times. I have never been aggressive with my toys. I just like to play tug or keep-away if I don't want you taking it from me. I am a pretty active boy and would do best with a family that can give me plenty of exercise and playtime. If you're looking for a great dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. Story
My boy Wyatt!! My stepdaughter has developed an allergy to all dogs. i have had him since he was a 12-week-old puppy. He is not good with other dogs, mostly bigger dogs. he is dominate. he needs a strong pack leader. He is food sensitive, meaning he likes to eat alone. I have worked on his food grumpiness! he is off leash trained. He will on command pick up items and bring them to you. (the paper, shoes, etc.) He is highly intelligent (my third one, by far the smartest). Does not always want petted and you have to watch his body language, he needs a strong gentle hand. Small spaces make him reactive (he feels trapped, a car, small room, hallway etc.) and he can be reactive. He has snapped, and like all Rotties growl. Does not like to be disturbed while sleeping (snuggled, laid with, shook etc.) I command him up, and then whatever we were going to do. He knows the command's: Ignore, eyes (looks at you, head up) sit, stay, down, find it, watch, potty, come, and here (heel position)

Story
Say hello to Mowgli!Mowgli is a sensitive 3-year-old Rottweiler/Black Lab mix with a heart of gold. At first, he may be a bit shy and reserved, but give him some time, and you'll discover a loyal companion who loves nothing more than to snuggle up with his favorite people. His favorite pastime is to get on your lap and pretend he's a lap dog. Mowgli shows potential with other dogs, but he can be nervous initially, so a slow introduction is required to ensure a good fit. With patience and understanding, Mowgli will thrive in a home that appreciates his gentle nature. He would do best in a home with kids aged 13 and up who can respect his sensitivity and help him feel secure. If you're looking for a devoted, affectionate, and loving friend, Mowgli is ready to find his forever family. Let's help this wonderful boy find the loving home he deserves! If Mowgli looks too cute to pass up, give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext. 226 to learn more about him and schedule a time to come in and meet!

Story
Meet Jamison This poor boy was adopted from the rescue as a puppy. A couple years later he was returned due to a divorce. He came back to the shelter scared of new people and unsure of dogs. The volunteers worked with him to build his confidence back up and he was adopted again to only be returned a year later due to another separation. This poor guy has succumb to the shelter life and really needs a hero. - About 4 years old - Walks great on a leash - Keeps his kennel clean - Loves peanut butter and to snuggle - Best as an only pet at this time - Might take a few meets to warm up to some new people but once he is bonded with you, he will love you for life - Graduated from Confidence building and reactivity classes. - Older kids - A quiet home with little traffic who understands his needs If interested in fostering or adopting Jamison, apply at www.everydogmattersrescue.org Located in Youngstown, Ohio

Story
??Name: Zuri ?? Age: 6 -7 years ?? Weight: 60 lbs (and gaining) ?? Likes: being with people, getting scratches, walks, food, playing ? Dislikes: Storms, vacuum, loud voices, yelling. New situations make her nervous. ?? Personality/ Temperament : sweet, easy going , she does have some anxiety. ?? Energy Level : Average she is up for a walk or playing but a nap also suits her. ?? Favorite Activities: Napping on couch next to you, playing with other dogs/toys, taking a walk and smelling stuff. ? Eating Schedule : she eats 3 meals a day. Very limited ingredients, no preservatives. She HAS to stay on this type food, with her special treats as well. ?? Good with cats ,dogs and kids over 6?  She is good with cats and dogs. She plays with fosters dog every day. She has not really been around kids while in my care maybe 1 or 2 brief encounters and she was fine, but older kids preferred as she can be nervous. She can be a little nippy with treats (after all she wasn't being fed). ?? House Trained :  Yes, but if she eats something she shouldn't an accident is sure to come. ?? Signals to go out: yes she does . She will come stare at you or nudge you and then bark if you don't move . Or if you are in another room she will bark. Don't ignore her signals. ? Challenges: She can only have a VERY limited clean diet so making sure she doesn't get anything she shouldn't have (example other pet foods). She is tall enough to reach the counter (which is not something she does normally, but she can) so you have to be careful not to leave anything that would really tempt her (like pizza... she LOVES it). ? Medical Issues: She has IBD and an allergy to preservatives. She also has some anxiety, and takes daily meds for that, as well as a probiotic. ?? The Best Home: The Best Home for Zuri would be one where everyone is on board to make sure she does not eat anything but her approved diet. She would love to have a dog friend to play with. Would probably be better in a home without small children because of how strict her diet has to be.  Her food is more costly than regular dog food, so you must be financially able to provide it ongoing. Her treats are also more costly, she can't have regular dog treats. She occasionally will have flare ups with the IBD and you have to be on board to clean up messes if they occur....she tries really hard not to have them. Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1.5 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $100.00 {$75 if Senior} of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue. ADOPTION FEE's: Puppies under 6 months:  $199.00 Adults:  $150.00 Seniors (over 7 yrs):  $99.00 If you are interested in one of our dogs please fill out an application: https://form.jotform.com/193425528783165
