Story
Meet Bagel. Bagel is a husky/boxer mix (mostly boxer) and is approximately 2 yrs old.  She is spayed and up to date on shots.  Bagel would do best in a calm home with no kids or older kids that listen and respect animals.  She does great with my 3 kids (ages 16, 13, and 9) but does not like when my boys play rough.  When I took her in I was told she hated men but I have been working with her and she absolutely loves my husband now.  I was told her previous owners had an aggressive man in the house and I’m guessing that’s where her dislike for men came from.  However, I feel she is much better now and given a safe environment men are no longer an issue.  She just needs to know she is safe.  She is crate trained.  Bagel is also house trained but does have little accidents when she’s excited so I just try to take her out every 10-15 minutes when she is super excited.  She is an absolute love bug.  She loves to cuddle up under the blankets and gets tucked in every night.  She goes in her crate and I tell her to lay down and then I cover her up and a lot of the times she will lay her head down before the crate is even closed.  Bagel also LOVES toys, and I mean loves!  She will literally get 20-25 toys out with 20 minutes, and no, sadly she does not put them away lol.   Overall she is a very calm girl.   She jumps very minimal and usually only when you are playing and getting her wound up.  She definitely does have the boxer “boxing” trait.  She will absolutely use her paws (I find it super cute).  She has never been in the house with cats but we do have lots of barn cats and she doesn’t mind them unless they are eating her food and then she will bark at them. I have not had her with my dogs as my dogs are not other dogs friendly.  Although I was told that she gets along with other dogs and I think she would be fine with other dog friendly dogs (but not tested to be clear).  She had a lot of fear when I first took her in and she does still need some extra lovins to learn that she is safe and I think she will be the absolute perfect dog. She has a wonderful personality and a very sweet demeanor.   She was dog tested and did great, she'd love a friend to play with and show her the ropes! You can apply at www.ldrofohio.org Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1.5 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $100.00 {$75 if Senior} of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue.  ADOPTION FEE's: Puppies under 6 months:  $199.00 Adults:  $150.00 Seniors (over 7 yrs):  $99.00  If you are interested in one of our dogs please fill out an application:  https://form.jotform.com/193425528783165

Shirley is a young adult Boxer mix that came to Tri-County as a stray and sadly her family never came to claim her. Now Shirley has been spayed and vaccinated and is ready for a fresh start. Shirley can be a bit shy when first meeting her but she is a lovable girl with a sweet personality. She enjoys being outside, going for walks and snuggling. She is in a play group with other dogs and does well. This girl needs a soft & gentle touch to give her direction, praise & love. If you are looking for a loving, affectionate girl come meet Shirley! Story
Zuri is a sweet, easygoing gal who’s ready for her next chapter. She was surrendered through no fault of her own due to her owner developing allergies, and she’s handled the change with grace and a wagging tail. This lovely lady enjoys a good romp around the yard, but she’s just as happy relaxing and soaking up the calm moments. Zuri walks nicely on leash and has done well with other dogs in playgroup, though a meet-and-greet would be needed to make sure everyone’s a good match. If you’re looking for a laid-back companion with a heart of gold, Zuri might just be your perfect match! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict.I am a senior dog that is eligible for the Senior 2 Senior Adoption Program! The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neuteringAdoption fee: $95.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2025 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. The cost of the license is $9.20. (Senior Citizen or Person with Disability-$7.20)Leash and collar included.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾🥧 Well hello y'all — I’m Moon Pie! 🥧🐾 (2 Years • 70 lbs • Male • Big Goof Energy Included) Yep, Moon Pie — like the sweet treat and like Sheldon’s Meemaw calls him on The Big Bang Theory. Because when you’re this lovable, wiggly, and impossible not to adore, you deserve a name that sounds like a hug. And let me tell you… I am a hug in dog form. I’m a big, lanky, floppy, happy boy with a giant heart and zero shame about belly rubs. I will dramatically roll over, squirm, wiggle, and grin while you rub my belly like it’s my full-time job (spoiler: it is). My foster dad calls me a total goof — and honestly, I take that as a compliment. I’m fully house trained (very proud of this accomplishment) and I’m doggie-door certified. If the door is ever locked, I politely wait like the gentleman I am instead of panicking or causing chaos. On walks, I usually stroll along nicely on a loose leash… unless a squirrel appears, or a potential new friend crosses my path, in which case I briefly but only briefly, forget my professionalism 😅 🐾 Moon Pie’s Fun Facts & Credentials: ✔️ House trained & crate trained (I relax quietly when you leave) ✔️ Uses the dog door like a pro ✔️ Walks well on leash — excitement moments included ✔️ Quiet at home — not much of a barker ✔️ Loves toys and can entertain himself like a one-dog circus ✔️ Knows “sit” and “stay” and takes treats gently ✔️ Super smart, eager to learn, and very trainable I’ve lived with a senior dog and we got along great — though I’ll admit, sometimes I forget not everyone wants to play as much as I do. I’d love a dog buddy who enjoys some playtime or a human who’s happy to help me keep polishing my manners. I really want to be the best boy. Oh — and if you’re into running or biking? Congratulations, you’ve just found your new workout partner. I love keeping pace and cruising alongside you like it’s no big deal. At the end of the day, I’m sweet, affectionate, goofy, active, and full of potential. I’m the kind of dog who brings laughter to your yard, calm to your home, and loyalty to your heart. If you’re looking for a loving, slightly ridiculous, incredibly charming companion with sweetness galore and is Meemaw-level approval… I think we might be a perfect match. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and bring home Moon Pie — the snack-sized name with the full-sized heart. 🖤🤍🥧🐾
