Zeus (birthdate 9/15/22) was picked up as a stray by Animal Control in Burgettstown early July… this sweet, gentle Rottweiler was extremely thin, weighing only 55 pounds. When his stray hold was over, he was released to Pet Search. After 7 weeks of good food, lots of love and zoomies in the yard, Zeus is now a very healthy 100 pounds. It was thought that Zeus has a sarcoma on his joints; however, they are non existent now! The “calloused” areas have all but disappeared as he is able to run and play. We believe that Zeus was most likely crated for long periods of time in a crate too small for him which caused these “sarcoma-like” lesions. Zeus loves attention and is happiest when getting lots of love and kisses from his foster mom. He is now neutered, 4dx tested, vaccinated and microchipped. He needs work on leash walking and we are slowly introducing him to other dogs. Zeus would be an incredible dog for a family that has a strong understanding of the stubborn Rottweiler mentality and is willing to continue to work with him on his leash walking. At only a year old, he is still a young dog with plenty of learning and maturing ahead of him. At around 85 pounds, this gorgeous girl may be a big dog, but she is truly a sweetheart who is ready to leave her difficult past behind and finally have the loving home she deserves. Betty joined us from local animal control after arriving with severe hair loss caused by a flea infestation and flea allergies. Thankfully, she is doing so much better now! Her beautiful coat is growing back wonderfully, and with continued care, we expect her to keep looking more and more like the stunning girl she was meant to be. But Betty's beauty goes far beyond her gorgeous Rottweiler looks. She is an incredibly sweet, friendly, and outgoing girl who loves being around people. She enjoys going for walks and would make a wonderful companion for someone who wants a loyal best friend to share life's adventures with. Betty is also wonderfully well-mannered in her foster home. She does well in a crate, rarely barks, and does a great job going outside to the bathroom. She is great with other dogs but needs to be in a home without cats and with older children only. Reyna is beautiful, low-shedding, crate trained, potty trained, and walks on a leash like she personally watched every episode of The Dog Whisperer. She loves running, hiking, swimming, fetch, and basically any activity preferred by those mysterious people who voluntarily do cardio when absolutely no one is chasing them. She’s great with kids and medium- to large-sized dogs. However, in true Rottie fashion, Reyna firmly believes squirrels, cats, and other tiny fast-moving creatures are highly suspicious and should be investigated at full speed. The classic debate- left Twix versus right Twix... Either way, it'll be delicious!! Just like a Twix bar, I am super sweet, a little salty, and really ooey gooey. I was found when I was 10 months old and brought to God’s Dogs Rescue. I was adopted for about a year but have, otherwise, spent my life in the rescue system. I'm now entering my golden years and have been overlooked for long enough! I have lived with many dogs in the past but, at my age, I prefer those that are lower energy and will live and let live. I would also be fine as the only dog. I am a generally lazy guy but I still have a stubborn streak and will assert myself if needed. I'm not a fan of smaller animals (cats, birds, etc.) unless we are talking about favorite snacks. In my foster home, I am an easy-going guy and the BIGGEST LOVER. I get so excited, wiggly, and bouncy with my humans. They give the best back scratches, I give the best hair tumbleweeds. I am also amazing on leash so walks are a breeze. My favorite way to get around though, is a ride in the car. I love nothing more than cruising around the neighborhood with the wind in my ears. I am so ready for my new AND FINAL home!
