Meet Smores! This big guy loves to run around our play yard to get his energy out. His favorite toy is a rope toy, and you can often find one in his mouth when he's zooming around. He knows how to sit nicely and take the treats gently! A couple of highlights about our boy s'mores: Is he sweet? Yep! He loves our staff and he has quite the personality too! 🥰Will he like you when you first meet? No probably not. S'mores takes time to trust but as you can see from our photos and videos, s'mores LOVES the staff and trusts them. This didn't happen overnight, so he needs someone that is willing to put the time in. Does he like hugs or like to cuddle? Sorry but as much as he looks like a big teddy bear, s'mores doesn't like that. Does s'mores like other dogs? Previously he lived with several other dogs and had food guarding issues when he first arrived. S'mores now takes treats from the hands of staff with no issues and doesn't pay much attention to the other dogs as he walks by. This is because he has learned a routine so any home he would go to, he would have to learn all over again. So again, he needs someone who is willing to put the time in to not only have him trust you but if you have another dog, that will take time as well. This will be a long process but worth it. Does s'mores like cats? S'mores have never seen a cat before and due to his initial temperament, we don't recommend he go to a home with cats. Does he like kids? Since s'mores doesn't trust easily and doesn't like to be hugged or cuddled, we do not think he should go to a home with children. S'mores is a goofy guy that loves walks and playing. We know there is the right person out there that can put the effort in for him. There have only been TWO people over the years who have put the effort in to take s'mores home, however both ended up passing due to his initial temperament. Most don't come back after the first meet. 😔If you are interested in s'mores, please submit an application through our website. Meet Reyna — this queen is part Rottweiler, part athlete, part professional couch companion, and 100% good girl. Reyna is beautiful, low-shedding, crate trained, potty trained, and walks on a leash like she personally watched every episode of The Dog Whisperer. She loves running, hiking, swimming, fetch, and basically any activity preferred by those mysterious people who voluntarily do cardio when absolutely no one is chasing them. She’s great with kids and medium- to large-sized dogs. However, in true Rottie fashion, Reyna firmly believes squirrels, cats, and other tiny fast-moving creatures are highly suspicious and should be investigated at full speed. Because of this, a home without cats is a must. The squirrels, however, have been warned and remain fair game. After a full day — or at least a good walk and a game of fetch — this gal is more than happy to crash on the couch with her people for cuddles and a full-on Love Island binge session. Athletic, gorgeous… and emotionally available? Honestly, Reyna is setting unrealistic standards for the rest of us. Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
