Story
Riggs is ready for his people! Our adult tri-colored Rottweiler/mix boy has a great friendly temperament and is smart as a whip. Fully grown at approximately 2 years old, loves attention and has a energy level that isn't too much but is just enough. His sweet nature shines though his beautiful eyes showing you that he's got so much love to give and will be a wonderful additional to the right family. He walks well on a leash and knows some commands. Another dog as a companion may work for Riggs but, as always, a meet-and-greet with another dog his size is a must prior to adoption. He is very treat motivated which means he'll love to learn new things. Riggs can be a bit food protective and would do best in a home without small children and without cats. Riggs is a courtesy post for the Brooke County Animal Shelter in Beechbottom, WV, about 45 minutes from Pittsburgh. Please contact the shelter at 304-394-0800 for more information or to arrange a meet and greet with Riggs.November 16, 2025, 1:31 pm

Story
Willie is an approximately 8–10 year old dog looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can spend his golden years. After recently losing both of his owners, he has been staying at a dog daycare in Allison Park, PA, and is ready for a place to call home again. Willie is a sweet boy who just wants his person. He forms strong bonds and loves butt scratches, all the rubs, and will nuzzle his head right into you for love once he feels safe and comfortable. He thrives in a quiet, predictable environment where he can settle in at his own pace. He would do best as the only pet in the home and is not a fit for homes with children. Willie has been in a structured daycare setting for several weeks and does well with routine and familiar caregivers. He is looking for someone patient and kind who will give him a little time, and in return, he’ll give you his whole heart.

Story
Hello my name is PJ and I'm a big burly manly man.   I like manly man things like being outdoors and chewy on bones! Nothing makes me happier than chewy on a nice juicy bone!    Lucky for you, I have a lot of love to give and I am looking for my forever home! My foster loves me but I need a forever family to call my own.   I have some specific requests since I’m a BIG BOOOY and know exactly what I want!    ——————> What I like: •I love dogs and people: I have a big heart and love cuddling, even though I won't fit on your lap and take up the whole bed . •I need another dog in the home, but not any dog, I need another dog who is a high energy working dog like me so I can play and get my ENDLESS energy out. It also helps me to know that I can watch said dog to know how to act in the home. (If I see them sit, I will sit) •Speaking of energy, I need a fenced in, large backyard. Because of my size, I will be uncomfortable in smaller backyards. I need to be able to run. •I need structure and routine so I don't get anxious. I need firm people that won't let me do whatever I want. Again, it's too much freedom. The more structure the better in my book. •I am also house-trained, Crate trained and neutered. ————> What I don't like: •I hate being bored. I need to move until I get tired. If I get bored, I will rearrange your furniture- I won't destroy it but I will DIY out of boredom like the man I am. •Small backyards •Sitting around the house all day. •I get a little anxious at night, the least active hours of the day. I will however settle down and fall asleep, though. just takes me a little bit.  Like I said, I am just a manly Rottweiler looking for a family to love. Just like me … I have a HUGE heart and can’t wait to see who adopts me! If that’s you, apply today!  ##2630768##

Story
Just like the classic debate- Left Twix versus Right Twix... both sides together ARE THE BEST! Just like a Twix bar, I am super sweet, a little salty, and really ooey gooey! I was found when I was only 10 months old and brought to God’s Dogs Rescue. I was adopted shortly after but returned due to being a snarky teenager and showing tenacity and energy common with my breeds. Training would have been key! Anyway, since coming back, I have spent almost *4.5 years* living on GDR's ranch property in Texas. I’ve been overlooked all this time and it’s time for that to change! I have now been in a foster home for ~8 months. It took some time to adjust to being indoors again but I have learned the wonders of ✨air conditioning✨. It also took time to adjust to “less dogs” but I‘m loving my newfound personal space. There are other dogs in my foster home but, at my age, I prefer dogs that match my low energy. I would even be fine as the only dog. Certainly no cats or other small animals for me! I still have a tinge of that independent/stubborn streak from my youth but, at the end of the day, I am a BIG LOVER! I get so excited, wiggly, and bouncy with my foster mom. She gives the best hugs and back scratches, I give the best hair tumbleweeds. I shed A LOT! While living at the rescue, they took great care of me...too good, honestly. I put on a lot of weight but have now slimmed down some, too! I am eating less and getting joint supplements every day to continue working on my figure. I am a generally lazy guy but I am amazing on a leash and love to go on walks. More consistent exercise will help with my weight loss. I still have plenty of pep in my step (especially when I‘m on the hunt for squirrels) so don’t let my age or size fool you. I am so ready for my new AND FINAL home! I will melt your heart when you look into my caramel eyes and sweet, chocolatey soul. Don't hesitate, ADOPT ME!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Lucy, the 2 Y.O Bernese Mountain Dog — the girl who wakes up each morning ready to learn that the world can be kind Lucy didn’t get the soft beginning every dog deserves, so she’s still learning that new days can bring good things. Like her namesake from 50 First Dates, she needs a moment each morning to remember that you’re safe, that she’s safe, and that love is real. But once she does? Oh, this girl shines. At 75 pounds of gentle sweetness, Lucy is a velvety, blue‑eyed beauty with a rare white face that turns heads everywhere she goes. She’s the kind of dog who leans her whole heart into you — offering kisses, paws, and that quiet “don’t go too far” closeness that makes you feel chosen. Lucy is discovering the joy of play, proudly learning how to chase a ball, and she loves nothing more than sitting on the porch beside her humans, watching the world drift by. She’s calm, observant, and deeply connected to the people she trusts. She’s been given a clean bill of health, is up to date on all her vetting, and she’s wonderful with other animals and children. A fenced yard would help her feel secure as she continues to blossom into the confident, joyful dog she’s meant to be. Lucy isn’t just looking for a home — she’s looking for her person. Someone patient, gentle, and ready to show her that every sunrise is a fresh chance to be loved. If you’re the kind of human who understands that healing is a journey… Lucy will give you a kind of devotion that can’t be taught. Story
WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾🥧 Well hello y'all — I’m Moon Pie! 🥧🐾 (2 Years • 70 lbs • Male • Big Goof Energy Included) Yep, Moon Pie — like the sweet treat and like Sheldon’s Meemaw calls him on The Big Bang Theory. Because when you’re this lovable, wiggly, and impossible not to adore, you deserve a name that sounds like a hug. And let me tell you… I am a hug in dog form. I’m a big, lanky, floppy, happy boy with a giant heart and zero shame about belly rubs. I will dramatically roll over, squirm, wiggle, and grin while you rub my belly like it’s my full-time job (spoiler: it is). My foster dad calls me a total goof — and honestly, I take that as a compliment. I’m fully house trained (very proud of this accomplishment) and I’m doggie-door certified. If the door is ever locked, I politely wait like the gentleman I am instead of panicking or causing chaos. On walks, I usually stroll along nicely on a loose leash… unless a squirrel appears, or a potential new friend crosses my path, in which case I briefly but only briefly, forget my professionalism 😅 🐾 Moon Pie’s Fun Facts & Credentials: ✔️ House trained & crate trained (I relax quietly when you leave) ✔️ Uses the dog door like a pro ✔️ Walks well on leash — excitement moments included ✔️ Quiet at home — not much of a barker ✔️ Loves toys and can entertain himself like a one-dog circus ✔️ Knows “sit” and “stay” and takes treats gently ✔️ Super smart, eager to learn, and very trainable I’ve lived with a senior dog and we got along great — though I’ll admit, sometimes I forget not everyone wants to play as much as I do. I’d love a dog buddy who enjoys some playtime or a human who’s happy to help me keep polishing my manners. I really want to be the best boy. Oh — and if you’re into running or biking? Congratulations, you’ve just found your new workout partner. I love keeping pace and cruising alongside you like it’s no big deal. At the end of the day, I’m sweet, affectionate, goofy, active, and full of potential. I’m the kind of dog who brings laughter to your yard, calm to your home, and loyalty to your heart. If you’re looking for a loving, slightly ridiculous, incredibly charming companion with sweetness galore and is Meemaw-level approval… I think we might be a perfect match. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and bring home Moon Pie — the snack-sized name with the full-sized heart. 🖤🤍🥧🐾

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Teeka, a 1 year 7 month old spayed female, Boxer mix, 42lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience. She’s a goofy, happy, loving girl and with just one look into those pretty doe eyes, your heart will melt! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her?
