Story
Buster (Bluth) is looking for his forever home! A car hit this sweet boy and left him to die on the side of the road in Lockhart, TX. However, he is as tough as he is sweet, and he survived by dragging his injured body around for quite some time until police officers found him and took him to the local shelter. On top of the injuries: he was emaciated, dripping with fleas and ticks, and had a tie out embedded in his neck. Unfortunately, that shelter did not have a medical team to address his injuries, so they felt euthanasia was the only way they could help him. Rescue Friends Ranch was there volunteering, stepped in as they were preparing the euth shot, and got him to the emergency vet in Austin. He has since undergone surgery to have his front, right leg removed, making him now the cutest tripod there ever was! Although he may look a little different now on the outside, you would never know what a horrible past he has had from his derpy, happy, loving inside! He LOVES people, wants all the cuddles and rubs, enjoys going on walks and playing, and will do anything for a yummy treat. He has met dozen and dozens of dogs and has gotten along well with all of them, but hasn't met any cats yet. His missing leg doesn't slow him down either, or require any special assistance. He still has lots of energy and loves going for walks, and Im sure he would make a great hiking/activity buddy. ALL the odds have been stacked against this sweet boy, but he pulled himself through them in hopes of there being a happy life on the other side. Could it be with you?! If interested in adopting, please fill out the application and RFR will be in touch! Buster is also looking for a foster until he finds the perfect forever family. If Interested in fostering, please contact me directly at chelsea@rescuefriendsranch.org. Thank you!

Admiral wins the heart of everyone he meets. He's in a foster home in Austin, Texas with our most experienced foster, Frank. Frank has been working with Admiral with the help of a trainer, and Admiral has learned some great skills that will help him be a terrific pet. Check out the video! On walks, Admiral is easy to handle and just loves being out. He's a little scared of traffic and we'd love to see him find a home in a quiet neighborhood. Admiral loves going to the river and splashing around. He likes toys, and he loves treats. Admiral will make a wonderful companion for an experienced dog owner.

What a nice well blended lady Toffee is - first, she`s a great medium size. She`s easy on a leash once she moves away from the hustle and bustle of the kennel building. She`s polite and knows her sits and shakes, and will gladly show off for a treat or two which she takes nice and easy. She`s shown us she`s very housetrained. And she`s quiet and always well behaved in her kennel here in the shelter. All the stuff that makes her a well rounded dog for home living and she`ll fit into many different types of homes. She`s even been with dog friends here. Hurry in to meet her. She`s advocated for her many friends here including ClassicCaninesATX who are helping build bridges out of the shelter for the mature crowd. A dog that knows there way in life can be a seamless fit into a home.

Story
Chavo has the hearts of everyone at he meets, including his dog foster sibling, and it's not just because he's the most handsome dog! "I love Chavo because he's the best adventure buddy!" says Ana, a volunteer and long time Chavo friend. Other reviews from friends include "perfect gentleman" "quite chill and friendly" "people person" "I love Chavo". His dog walker reports that "he's the easiest walk of my day!" While he is a social butterfly, he likes to carefully meet each best friend to make sure they start out on the right foot. This well rounded boy walks well on leash and has amazing manners in the home. Some of Chavo's favorite adventures include splashing around in the baby pool, hiking the trails, and playing soccer! Chavo is playful with his friends, but he can also settle independently and without supervision. Chavo is a mature pup who is well potty-trained, sleeps through the night, and loves dogs and cats alike. This scholarly boy is also fine tuning his skills in training classes at Every Dog Behavior and Training. Email now to find out more about Chavo and talk to his foster!

Story
Bubba found himself back at the shelter after being adopted as a puppy when his owner could no longer care for him. His previous home had nothing but great things to say about him. They state that Bubba is good on a leash, knows basic commands, is crate-trained, and has experience with both dogs and cats. Here at the shelter, Bubba has been a rockstar! He's had great interactions with other dogs and often shares a kennel with a doggy friend. Bubba would be the perfect addition to most any home!

Story
Winter is a gentle soul with a heart of gold. At 3-years-old, this chunky boxer mix is in the prime of her life and ready for a fresh start after her previous owner surrendered her and her best buddy, Jack, when the newborn son had severe onset allergies. Both dogs are still looking for their forever home, and ideally they would get their happily ever after together, though not required. Though she may be a bit shy at first, Winter is incredibly loving once she gets to know you. She would do best in a quiet home with adults or older children who understand her need for a gentle approach. Winter loves toys, the squeakier the better, and is always down for a good game of fetch, though she may need some work on the bringing it back part. Come meet Winter today!
