Story
Ella is a 2–3-year-old Rottweiler with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This lovable girl is truly a puppy at heart—full of playful energy, silly zoomies, and endless affection for her people. She recently completed a two-week board and train with our wonderful dog trainer, who noted that Ella likely wasn’t well-socialized as a pup. As a result, she’s a sweet goofball who sometimes forgets her manners when she’s excited—but with continued structure and positive reinforcement, she thrives! One of her favorite things in the world? Playing fetch! 🎾 Ella is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. She also tested negative for heartworm. While Ella gets along well with other dogs, she has shown some signs of food guarding, so we recommend feeding her separately from other pets—something our trainer helped work on during her stay. She has not been tested with cats and would do best in a home with children 10 years or older due to her bouncy, playful nature. If you're looking for a sweet, fun-loving companion who’s equal parts loyal and goofy, Ella might be the perfect fit for your family!

Story
Thanos is a big teddy bear that loves to hug and play. He gets along with kids and other dogs. Unfortunately, we do not have the space and the time that's required for his particular breed. He needs yard space to burn energy and a caretaker who has the time to play with him. He would be a perfect addition to any family.

Story
Meet Buxton! This stunning boy is a courtesy post and is not a Hail Mary Resuce dog. Please share his post so we can hopefully help find him an ideal home. Buxton is in Louisa, Virginia and is 82 lbs and turned 3 yrs old in September of 2024. He is fully vetted and has been well cared for by his owners who have had him since 8 weeks old. While they have prior Rottie and Dobie experience Buxton has been a challenge from the get go and sadly due the a daughters medical issues the time to keep Buxton happy and thriving doesn’t exist anymore. He knows his basics, (will post videos in comments) he is housebroken, crates quietly, loves truck rides and enjoys trips to Tractor Supply for cookies. He does live in a home with other dogs and some cats, however he is very demanding of being his mom’s favorite and can be aggressive towards the other dogs and if he gets bored enjoys irritating the cats. He has seen livestock from the fence and has been calm but hasn’t been with any animals. A home with time and knowledge to provide a structured environment for him will be ideal. He was doing better when his family had more time to give him attention. He is social when out of his house but becomes territorial at home and will need to be worked with to be polite when strangers come to visit. If you are interested in Buxton please send us a message and we will reply with his owners contact info. You can also fill out and application and we can forward that to the owner. Any shares would be greatly appreciated and please no negative comments. More photos and videos will be posted in comments. Thank you 🙏🏻 You can find my form "Hail Mary Rescue Adoption Application" at: https://form.jotform.com/hailmaryrescue/hail-mary-rescue-adoption-applicati

Story
Jazzy was born in April 2023. Not sure of the exact date. The previous owner adopted her from a shelter in Baltimore, Maryland. Still needs some training with other dogs and people. She can be aggressive with other dogs. She gets excited with people. She is crate trained. She knows sit and paw. She loves going on walks and sniffs everything. She barks and/or whines at other dogs while walking. Jazzy likes to cuddle. I have tried to get her shots, but unable to because she doesn’t like her paws being touched. Definitely needs her own veterinarian. I have not found one for her. Doesn’t like baths. I basically sponge bathe her and be extremely gentle with her paws. We file her nails down, but still long. She’s a sweet puppy dog. Her “babies” stuffed animals get destroyed almost immediately.

Story
Meet Duchess 🐾👑Duchess is a Rottweiler mix who's ready to leave her difficult past behind and start a new chapter filled with love and care. Rescued from a neglectful situation, Duchess hasn't had much socialization, so she's still learning how to trust and navigate the world. She'll need a patient and understanding adopter who can help her build confidence at her own pace. While she's aloof with other dogs, she's incredibly food motivated, which will be a great tool in her training and bonding process. Duchess would do best in a calm home with kids 10+ who can respect her boundaries. If you're ready to give Duchess the time and love she needs to truly blossom, she'll reward you with loyalty and gratitude. Could you be the one to give this regal girl her happily ever after? 💕 Primary Color: Black Brown Weight: 60 Age: 8yrs 4mths 1wks

Story
MEET THE ARTIST - FRAN FRAN!! Introducing Fran — a sweet and bubbly Boxer mix who lives for treat time! If you love spending time in the kitchen, Fran is your perfect sous chef. She gets incredibly excited whenever you grab a bag (any bag!), convinced it’s full of treats. While she sometimes needs a gentle reminder to sit and wait patiently, her enthusiasm is hard to resist. Fran is beginning to come out of her shell and is learning to enjoy social time, especially lounging on the couch with her pup pals. She’s very submissive and hasn’t met a dog she doesn’t like. If she ever feels unsure or overwhelmed, she’ll quietly retreat to her safe place — usually her bed or the kitchen. Walks can be a little intimidating at first, but once she’s out the door, Fran really comes into her own. She’s making steady progress with potty training, though she hasn’t quite perfected it yet. Fran would thrive in a home with older children, as she can be nervous around the fast, unpredictable movements of younger kids. She’s looking for a loving, patient person (or family) — maybe with another dog who can show her the ropes. Fran came to us scared and unsure, but with a little love and time, her true personality is shining through. She’s a beautiful example of how kindness can transform a timid pup into a loyal and loving companion.

Story
Meet Blue, Blue was part of a cruelty case involving 9 pure bred Dobermans. Blue has spent his entire life, locked in a kennel 23 out of 24 hours a day. Him and many of the dogs were deprived for human attention and food. Through it all, Blue has remained the sweetest, funniest, outgoing pup you ever met! He is very friendly towards humans and loves to wrestle with other dogs in the yard. He is definitely soaking up all his freedom and not taking it for granted. We are hoping his new life with be full of love, a large backyard, and many adventures he never got to do as a pup. * BLUE IS SCHEDULED FOR A NEUTER JUNE 25th * If you are interested in adopting Blue, please submit an application to be contacted!
