I'll perform all sorts of acrobats, even jumping in the air and twisting in every direction to catch a ball! I'm even learning to bring the balls back! I love car (or truck) rides. And I never met a trail that I did not want to explore. I meet everyone at my kennel with either a toy in my mouth or my food bowl. I am so happy to show them off to everyone. I have a full body wiggle when my favorite people are coming to get me out for a walk. I like other dogs with proper introductions. When I find a dog I like, I'll run & play until we're both dizzy with exhaustion. I'm a true "ladies man and would thrive in a home with another delightful female companion. I can be a bit shy at first, but then turn on that southern charm. I need an experienced owner and I need to be introduced to strangers slowly. But once I trust, I will enjoy cuddling in your lap. If you are willing and able to put the time into training me I will be sure to do my best to learn. Like most Rotties, I form strong bonds with those I love. I'm what they call a "diamond-in-the-ruff who will make a great life-long companion. I have been waiting a long time for my forever home. Loving, loyal, full of life. Come meet me!

Meet Trax, a neutered 2-year-old, 55-pound Rottweiler mix with the bounce of a rabbit and the heart of a best friend. He arrived as a stray in June, and when no one came to claim him, he started waiting for a family of his very own. We’re honestly amazed this lovable goofball is still here! Trax loves romping with dog friends, hanging out with people, and turning ordinary outings into grand adventures. With his happy energy, he’d make a fantastic hiking or running buddy, and he may even add a few surprise hops along the way. Behind the kennel door, Trax can seem a little shy at first. Bring him out to play, though, and BOING! his bouncy, joyful personality appears. We’re fairly certain there’s at least a tiny bit of rabbit hiding in that Rottweiler mix. Trax would thrive in an active home where he can join the fun. He’d be delighted to have a dog buddy, but he’s a little too interested in speedy kitties, so a cat-free home would be best. Trax is housebroken, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. His only remaining job is to pack his doggy bag and find the forever family who will love every silly, sweet hop. Come meet Trax at the shelter any day except Wednesday, between 12:00 and 4:00. Be sure to ask our staff to bring him out of his kennel to hang out so you can watch this fun boy’s personality shine!

Located in Lovettsville, VA Hi, I’m Brielle! 🐾 I’m a beautiful Rottie/Hound mix with a playful personality and a lot of love to give. Toys are one of my absolute favorite things, and I’m quite the talker when I have something to say! I do wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and would really benefit from having a confident canine friend in my forever home. I’m still working on my socialization and can be nervous around new people and unfamiliar situations, but I’m making great progress and warm up quickly once I realize I’m safe. One place I already feel completely comfortable is my crate — I’m a crate-training superstar and will even go in on my own when I want to relax. Young children are especially scary for me right now, so I’m looking for a home without little ones. Older, dog-savvy kids in their early teens or above may be a good fit. Because I can be nervous and may try to bolt when frightened, my new family will need to be extra careful about keeping me secure. A fenced yard is strongly encouraged and would give me a safe place to build confidence and explore. I’m looking for a patient family who understands that I may need a little time to feel safe. A secure home, plenty of toys, and ideally a doggy sibling to show me the ropes would be just about perfect. Give me a little patience and love, and I’ll show you just how sweet, silly and special I can be. ❤️

She is currently being treated for radius/ulnar fractures. She will have the cast in place for an additional 4-5 weeks and then will need exercise restriction until the bone has fully healed.   Currently Living at:   SC Rescue Campus; needs DC area foster or forever home   Lucie is Looking For:   This sweet girl is ready to bounce right into your heart and find her forever home.
