Story
Meet my 3-year-old Rottweiler Chief, a loyal companion I’ve raised since he was just 8 weeks old. From day one, he’s been the perfect balance of strength and sweetness. He has a naturally loving and caring personality, always eager to be by your side whether it’s relaxing at home or out enjoying the day. He’s incredibly protective in the best way alert, attentive, and always looking out for his family, yet never aggressive without reason. Around children and other dogs, he’s gentle, patient, and well-socialized, making him a great addition to any family environment. He’s very well-mannered and disciplined, with a solid understanding of basic commands like sit, stay, come, and down. He listens well and is eager to please. On top of that, he’s fully house-trained and has excellent behavior indoors. Overall, he’s not just a dog he’s a devoted, intelligent, and affectionate member of the family who brings both comfort and security wherever he goes.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/mason/ Hi there! I'm Mason! I certainly am an adorable Rottie mix who loves and plays hard. I am a pro when it comes to games of fetch. I'll perform all sorts of acrobats, even jumping in the air and twisting in every direction to catch a ball! I'm even learning to bring the balls back! I love car (or truck) rides. And I never met a trail that I did not want to explore. I meet everyone at my kennel with either a toy in my mouth or my food bowl. I am so happy to show them off to everyone. I have a full body wiggle when my favorite people are coming to get me out for a walk. I like other dogs with proper introductions. When I find a dog I like, I'll run & play until we're both dizzy with exhaustion. I'm a true "ladies man and would thrive in a home with another delightful female companion. I can be a bit shy at first, but then turn on that southern charm. I need an experienced owner and I need to be introduced to strangers slowly. But once I trust, I will enjoy cuddling in your lap. If you are willing and able to put the time into training me I will be sure to do my best to learn. Like most Rotties, I form strong bonds with those I love. I'm what they call a "diamond-in-the-ruff who will make a great life-long companion. I have been waiting a long time for my forever home. Loving, loyal, full of life. Come meet me!

She becomes very active after she gets comfortable and would love a home where she gets adventure and playtime with her family. Carly does her business outside and has been sleeping through the night in her foster home! Her favorite spot in the house is her dog bed where she likes to curl up and nap. She loves having a dog sibling around and learns a lot from them. Her great inner dog matches her sleek coat, lovely coloring, and deep eyes that just speak to you. Story
Currently fostered in: Brooklyn Park, MD 💜Meet Blair!💜 Don't let that stoic model face fool you- Blair is the sweetest goofball you'll ever meet! ENERGY AND PERSONALITY Blair is an energetic bundle of fun who loves flirt poles, fetch, tug of war, hikes, etc., and has hilarious zoomies for your entertainment! After the excitement wears off, lounging near her humans with her toys/bones and taking long naps in her humans' bed (and sometimes on her humans!) are Blair's go-to ways to spend the rest of her day. TRAINING AND BEHAVIOR Blair has a long list of positive behaviors under her belt: 🐾House-trained 🐾Crate-trained 🐾Listens well 🐾VERY food-motivated 🐾Eager to learn and super responsive to training. 🐾Great on car rides 🐾Great on walks 🐾Picks up on new things very fast 🐾Makes human friends wherever she goes Blair is a cutie who enjoys routine, structure, and the occasional adventure! SOCIAL LIFE Blair prefers human company to canine- she absolutely thrives being the only pup and the center of your world. Blair really loves people, but she is still working on practicing good manners when over-excited, so she isn't a candidate to live with young children right now. Blair is dog-selective and will need to be the only dog living in the home, although she has been known to enjoy playtime outdoors with specific dogs after a slow introduction. She really loves cats, but can chase them playfully and pester them to play with her. Blair has a feline best friend in her foster home who hides under the bed with her and helps her steal socks, shoes, and her foster mom's makeup. SPECIAL TRAITS Blair's foster mom can't say enough about her- she's insanely smart, she's silly, she's loyal, and you can feel the love and joy radiating from Blair when she sees you. She melts into a wiggle butt and gives the biggest hug she can. Blair loves getting kisses from her humans and is happy to be included. She looks tough, but truly is just a quirky girl who brings lots of laughs and love to your home. BEST HOME FIT Blair's ideal adopter is someone who is willing to be patient and work with her as she grows into her best self. She could do well in a range of calm home environments that allow her to be the only dog. She is still learning, and will benefit from structure and guidance (and some additional fun training to flex how smart she is!) An adopter who has the patience and dedication to continue training is vital to Blair's thriving! VETERINARY CARE Blair is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and receiving heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives along with routine parasite treatments. If you are someone looking for die-hard loyalty and love, Blair is your partner in crime. She's ready to find the person who is going to spoil her like the princess she is! 💜 Ready to give Blair a chance? We promise you'll have a best friend for life! 💜

Story
Current Location: Charlestown, WV Hello! My name is Baby Girl! I'm coming to OPH on 3/13. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease at https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics
