Hello, this is Oreo. He was going to get dropped off to our local shelter but they said they would euthanize him due to overcrowding. He is a Rottweiler/pitbull mix. I rescued him when he was approximately 10 weeks old. He is 8 years old now. Housebroken. Gets along with other dogs. Loves to lay around. He is a sweetheart that loves people and goes wherever the people are. He is getting older and starting to shed a lot more with noticeable skin issues. He also has been getting ear infections more frequently. Otherwise he is a healthy dog! He is up to date on his rabies shot. Since all the kids have left the house and the adults are not home much, he spends a lot of time alone and his quality of life has noticeably decreased. Oreo would do great with a retired family that spends a lot of time at home. He is a true companion. He would thrive in a sanctuary environment as well.

He is easy to walk on the leash, friendly with other dogs, affectionate and well-mannered with humans, and VERY handsome. The Henrico Police Animal Shelter is accessible by appointment only. Sherbet is a 2 year old boxer and pit bull mix who arrived at the shelter after living his life on a chain. He came to us underweight with visible scars from fly strike, yet despite everything he has endured, he has a bright, hopeful spirit and a deep desire for connection. Sherbet is energetic and playful and loves any opportunity to stretch his legs and enjoy freedom. Once he gets his energy out, he leans in for affection and clearly wants to build a bond with the people around him. With consistent care and structure, he is already showing how much potential he has to grow into a loving companion. At this time, Sherbet is still learning to feel comfortable around other dogs, especially while on leash. We are working with him on confidence building and positive exposure so that he can better understand how to navigate these interactions. With patience, training, and the right environment, we believe he will continue to make progress. Sherbet is looking for a home that can give him the stability and kindness he has never known.
