Rosa is a rottweiler who weighs about 90-100 pounds and is guessed to be around 6-8 years old. Rosa was looking pretty rough when she found herself in a high-kill shelter in SW Va. Since coming to us, she has flourished! Rosa is a smart girl who knows how to sit and shake hands. She loves food and is willing to work for it. She is big and strong but is well behaved for her foster mom. We are looking for a strong, competant owner for Rosa who does not have other pets. We would love to see Rosa in her very own home with her very own family. A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Rosa, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other "slow to adopt" dogs! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. The mother is full blooded Rottweiler but we have no idea what the father is. These little guys are cute and full of love and fun. They just need a family to love them so they can have a good chance at being a family member of a nice family that they can give all of their love to as well. Ace is a 2 yr. old rottweiler mix, he is already neutered and vaccinated. He was owner surrender as owner is having twins and will be too busy. He weighs approx. 65 lbs. and he is also microchipped. NOTE: all animals adopted are taken straight to a local veterinarian for spay/neuter. We do adopt out of area providing adopter is will to make more than one trip. There are NO exceptions, and we do not hold animals. All Kittens and puppies must weigh 2 lbs. for surgery and there are a limited number of veterinarians in our area that will do a pediatric spay/neuter. please note the Rockbridge Spca does not have emotional support animals or service animals. We do not adopt to college students, however, they are welcome to volunteer.

Hey, look at me! My name is Kirby and I'm a cutie! I'm not sure what breed of dog I am but you could buy one of those DNA tests and have some fun figuring it out. I'm surprisingly petite, a nice medium weight. They say the camera adds 10 pounds and I agree! I look bigger in my pics so really do need to come meet me! I hear that being good with cats might increase my chance of finding someone who wants to take me home and I have to tell you....I lived with a herd of cats before we were all taken away and ended up in a shelter. Still, I'm a kind, pretty calm and well adjusted boy who is ready to be a part of your family for years to come.
