Story
Rosa is a rottweiler who weighs about 90-100 pounds and is guessed to be around 6-8 years old. Rosa was looking pretty rough when she found herself in a high-kill shelter in SW Va. Since coming to us, she has flourished! Rosa is a smart girl who knows how to sit and shake hands. She loves food and is willing to work for it. She is big and strong but is well behaved for her foster mom. We are looking for a strong, competant owner for Rosa who does not have other pets. We would love to see Rosa in her very own home with her very own family. A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Rosa, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other "slow to adopt" dogs! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Barkley is a sweet 5 yr old rottie mix. She has been in rescue over 3 years. She needs to find her forever home. She does have a high prey drive, so no cats or small dogs. She has done absolutely fine with older children. She has not been exposed to smaller kids other than walking through the store and did fine. She has been completely vetted and is house and crate trained. She loves her belly rubs and will often wait for you to give her one before coming inside. She has no issues

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Lorenzo! This adorable fellow is ready to head home. He is a typical puppy, needing structure and training in addition to cuddles and love. He is teething, so he chews on everything, including hands if not given appropriate teething toys. He wants to jump up for attention, but quickly learned that 'Off' means all four feet on the floor to get treats, pets, and love. Lorenzo is very smart. He learned that lesson in just a few minutes. Could Lorenzo be the perfect fit for your family? Stop in and find out! Whoever adopts him will get one free transitional training session with our training partners at Camp Merricks.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    July 11, 2025, 7:17 am
